PoE Fire, Spell, Totem builds

tl;dr it seems bad but I'm not that experienced with scaling fire DoT. Damage is simulated using DD corpse life that will provide same exact damage that the totem will. The idea is to use Searing Bond totems which can be scaled through +1 fire gems to increase totem life while also doing fire DoT. Since we're chieftain with 90% res, we use RF for more fire DoT and more spell damage for searing bond. And then we use arcanist brand for flame surge/curse while using scorching ray for infusion/stronger exposure since there's nothing else to do while your totem ign

I'm a casual player. I've started to work my way through Kirac maps and am looking to fine tune my current setup: Right off the bat you'll notice I'm templar, so not the optimal class for the build; a change toward a poison SRS build is something that happened around mid-game. Which build would be better as a league starter? I'm leaning towards Hot DoT Trickster but I'm unsure if totem health will be an issue. Gear in both is a filler so don't be concerned about not being resist capped or not having sufficient attributes, though I am intending to use their bases.
