tl;dr it seems bad but I'm not that experienced with scaling fire DoT. Damage is simulated using DD corpse life that will provide same exact damage that the totem will. The idea is to use Searing Bond totems which can be scaled through +1 fire gems to increase totem life while also doing fire DoT. Since we're chieftain with 90% res, we use RF for more fire DoT and more spell damage for searing bond. And then we use arcanist brand for flame surge/curse while using scorching ray for infusion/stronger exposure since there's nothing else to do while your totem ign

After finishing my first build and wracking my brain trying to figure out what to play next I re-read the patch notes looking for anything that popped out. The ignite changes are what prompted my first build, but the changes to Scorching Ray and Searing bond really caught my eye. Yes EE is effectively dead for these skills, and EO is literally dead (they can't hit therefore can't crit whatsoever), but their base damages were raised so enormously (exactly 58% more for both) that it doesn't even matter.
