PoE Cruelty, Projectile builds

Just wanted to ask about Ignite prolif, as I was looking into some builds, most of em have good clear, ofc thanks to prolif, but some builds dont use support and just rely of herald of ash? I read the skill and it says that it transfers only Overkill damage, does is scale with my DoT damage somehow or do they get prolif somewhere else and Im just hella blind? example:

Alright, I hear you, this is crazy. But it could work! See the PoB. No uniques or jewels of any kind needed. Easy to get spell suppress. Crit immune. Decent dam. Very tanky. Good flask recovery. Great life regen. 20% chance to avoid ele ailments from tree. Everything on lifetap to avoid mana issues. PoB has mostly trash equipment, which is what we'll be using. Hey Guys, two or three days ago i got a little bit bored about this league. All day doing 5way carry and earn currency and no goal were to spent it. I leveled the character to 96 and moved to a cluster setup: A little pheonix showcase, sorry for bad quality, my potato can barely handle the build without recording Build still has alot of room to improve, especially the rares but also corruptions on weapons (i kinda scoured the market without hitting a single crit or as).

Here's my test result of reduced projectile speed spectral helix. Spectral helix can always spiral up to 4.25 rotations, and the projectile speed does not affect the rotation distance. In my test, I found the number of total hits versus projectile speed was limited to 36 hits against this little totem. Further, the hit rate decreased to around 0.5 h
