WizardShade's Notes

This is my venom gyre template for 3.21 The goal of this template is to provide a setup that can comfortably do all voidstones and fully complete the atlas, for as cheap as possible. I have tested this build in standard 3.20 with as close to a setup as possible. I was able to do all content except last phase maven (because I suck). It should be considerablly stronger in 3.21 due to the changes on the tree. To begin I'll start with a pros and cons Pros: Pretty cheap Very good mobility with whirling blades + flame dash Suprisingly tanky due to very good sustain Good damage for cost Cons: Micro intesive gameplay (many buttons to press and time) Not a hand holdy build (you have to figure out leveling yourself and what to do after) Now I'll go over each aspect of the build. Defences: Phys Elemental Chaos Attack 58% evade+15% block+immortal call 58% evade+15% block+immortal call+elemental flasks 58% evade+15% block Spell 72% spell supression+immortal call 72% spell suppression+immortal call+elemental flasks 72% spell suppression Overall the mitigation isn't the greatest, espeically for phys and chaos. But it feels fine when playing. If you want to round it out more consider getting positive chaos res and more evasion rating on gear. Sustain: Life leech and Life on Hit Recover 4% Life when you use a flask + Flagallent (New) Life flask Ailment immunity through Purity of Elements These 3 together make it so that we'll be able to sit in shit and dish it out at the same time. But, the defences aren't fullproof so we'll occasionally die to very big hits. Damage: The main things are Use Kaom's Spirit + Immortal Flesh to get 3 rage regen per second. This gives use 4 seconds of berserk every 5 seconds. (Can also add Voll's Vision for better uptime) Dual wield claws to get very high Ias and access to the very strong dual wield nodes on tree. Every damage multiplier that I can cram in. Vaal VG for very good burst dps. Tornado to catch any projectiles that miss the boss, and chain them back. For the claws you want high ele damage prefixes and crit + ias suffix. You can just spam essence on a regular imperial claw or a fractured one. You don't need anything crazy. The claws in this PoB are pretty bad. To note I don't use Fork Support on my VG when fighting bosses. This is because I wanted to optimize for single target damage during these encounters. You can run it during mapping as a gem swap. This helps a lot for dense packs in certain tilesets. Another option is Elemental Damage With Attacks Support, it's more damage then Added Cold. But it has the downside of being offcolor. So you wouldn't be able to swap Fork, and the chest becomes hard to color if you're using a pure evasion piece. It come become worth it though, since the flat ele damage supports fall off pretty hard once you get flat damage elsewhere. Another thing to mention is that I self cast Snipers Mark on bosses. It's a considerable DPS up since you get additional projectiles returning and more inc damage. For mapping though sub in Mark on Hit Support. Now on to the most important part for damage. While the damage on this build is good, it's very inconsitent. This is because of the nature of VG and the way I stacked multipliers like Berserk and Vall VG. Basically if you time everything right Berserk+Vaal VG+Ancestral Protector. Your damage will spike a lot. This is why there's the con of being micro intensive. Since it's annoying to manage if your not interested in that kind of gameplay, or familiar with rotations. Crafting: To Craft the gear for this build it's very easy. First off take a look at the "Configuration" tab in the "Custom Modifiers" box. Those are all the stats you need on gear. The way to craft every single piece of gear is to spam essences on it. For helmet and boots. you want to spam resistance essences until you're satisified. This is because the benchcrafted life is 70 on all these pieces. There's also the chance you get lucky. I tend to usually get more life due to also rolling hyrid life mods. If you want to add eldrich implicit modifiers to the boots go ahead. It's important to benchcraft accuracy on the helmet, since it's needed to cap hit chance. The other option is getting some more reservation efficiency either through an annoint or the associated essence. Then you can level up the precision to cap your accuracy. For body armour you want to spam life essence until you get other good mods. You can also again add eldrich mods if you want. Ideally you want to start with an already linked base. If you can't afford a 6 link just drop added cold support. The jewellery is crafted by spamming Attribute essences. Since we use a lot of different colored gems there's a very high requirement. If you start with a white or blue base consider applying catalysts if you have them. Crafting added flat ele prefix can also help boost our dps if you roll a good ring. Just be careful that you don't get too much ele damage of one type since it can brick trinity. The priority I use is Lightning>Fire>Cold for average damage output for the highest tier of each craft. For every one of these crafts feel free to mix and match with whatever essences you have. It's not really a big deal what you use. The examples I listed are generally better, but it's not a big deal. Starting with a fractured base is also a good idea. Since it guarantees a good mod. But it's not mandatory. To craft the flasks you just get a high enough item level flask of the right type. And spam alterations and augments. There's only two required suffixes so while the flagallant mod is rare you should be able to hit the in four tries. Remember to bauble your flasks when they're white before crafting. Getting Surgeons mod on Diamond Flask instead of Flagallant can also help with it's uptime on bosses. But, if you do this then the Life Flask sustain gets cut in half, so be careful. Note that this build guide skips on amulet annoints and helm enchants. If you need more attributes you can annoint one of the attribute nodes like BEEF. Otherwise you can just annoint whatever you want. Getting a minus mana cost craft on ring can also be nice if you're running out of mana. But, it should be fine do to the new 30% mana cost conversion node. Mapping / Eater Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAhz3gwA1rg I would bound Blood Rage to LMB. As you can see I'm not very good at the micro gameplay. After this there's many ways to invest into the build to get it to a point where it can do all content in the game. The main one people go for is Crystallized Omnicience, which gives a lot of flat elemental penetration. But I'll leave that for you to figure out. GL
