Who is this build good for?
I would say this is mainly a mapping character. You could absolutely push this dps much higher and could do bosses (I did sirus/cortex/maven so far) but that is definitely not its primary function in this guide.
However if you manage to get all of the items I recommend and use sentinel to craft some really nice critical strike chance stuff you can easily do pinnacle content. This character would be absolutely
fantastic for someone wanting a really zoomy map farmer that doesn't require a ton of investment. For example if you wanted to mass run t10-12 maps with Einhar or expedition this would be amazing for that.
You can absolutely push this build to farm t16 with little difficulty (which I did to get lv93) but it is not going to be good for mega juiced maps.
This build with max rage flies through the maps and blows up everything. Once you get strikes on your gloves the aoe feels amazing and it really feels more like a ranged character than melee.
Difficulty: The character is for the most part really simple and easy to gear. We use all rare gear (you can use some uniques for huge dmg/utility but I like consistency and not being a mega glass cannon)
Strongly recommend you farm up a nice stockpile of essences as most of your gear can be relatively easily crafted with it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Gear: All modifiers are listed in priority order from most to least important and they will be seperated by section. There will be a brief "how to" below these items to give you a few ideas / options on how to
get this gear for yourself in a SSF setting. You want to get at MINIMUM the first 3 modifiers for each piece ideally. Please note all my advice is with SSF in mind but if you are on trade just buy it ;D <3
Weapon: Brain rattler. Ideally in a perfect world you would want to get this to 30% qaulity usiling hillock and then double corrupt it. ideally you want fortify/onslaught support and local phys or attack speed
However if you don't want to risk double corrupting I will have an alterate body armour option for you below
Body Armour | AR/EV base (using double corrupted rattler assuming at LEAST fortify or onslaught implicit): Life, spell suppression, resistance, chaos resistance, armour, evasion | Implicits: Searing, crit multi for attack damage Eater, determination effect
How to: pretty straight forward piece, I would recommend either essence crafting with Greed (or whatever resistance you need) or harvest crafting. I would not take anything less than t2 spell suppression and life.
---------------------
Body Armour | AR/EV base (not using corrupted rattler with fort or onslaught) Hunter influence: Life, spell suppression, attacks have +X% to critical strike chance, % increased life, resistance, chaos resistance, armour, evasion
How to: get yourself a nice 6l hunter base and in my opinion the best way to go for these mods is harvest. You want to use life, critical and attack crafts. Without spell suppression and +X% to attack critical strikes
---------------------
Gloves | AR/EV base NO INFLUENCE: Life, Spell suppression, critical strike chance against shocked enemies, resistance, chaos resistance, dexterity | Implicits: Searing, strike skills target additional enemy Eater, lightning exposure on hit
How to: You will need to do some alva farming until you drop a few pair of gloves with the crit strike against shocked enemies mod. Then you need to gamble with sentinel crafting. This is not required to start the character but the main way
you are going to drastically increase your damage is boosting your critical strike chance. You can get more mods for damage but it is already very difficult to do this craft as is and we need resistances and I try to not do glass cannon if it can be helped.
---------------------
Boots | AR/EV base NO INFLUENCE: Life, spell suppression, movement speed, resistance, chaos resistance, dexterity | Implicits: Searing, chaos resistance, Eater, phys gained as extra lightning
How to: very simple craft we don't need anything fance. I would recommend getting a lot of chaos resistance with essences but it is not required. There are many things you can swap here for damage/utlity (like tailwind) but
I don't think it's worth it and using a nice rare feels very smooth in my opinion. You can do sentinel crafting if you want but honestly you can just simply do essence with Zeal or do harvest speed crafts.
---------------------
Helmet | AR/EV base NO INFLUENCE: Spell suppression, life, int/dex (depending what you need), resistance, chaos resistance | Implicits: Searing, reduced mana cost of skills Eater, mana reservation of skills
How to: Once again very simple essence/harvest crafts. I would like to say that you can easily use an Abyssus for tons of damage but I don't like being squishy. You can also use an essence of loathing to get even more
mana reservation effect but that's not required.
---------------------
Ring #1: I use an unset ring with vitality as it offsets the life drain from rage quite a bit and makes your leech feel better. If you do not run the same auras as I do then you probably don't need unset.
Life, resistance, dexterity, chaos resistance, dexterity/intelligence, flat phys
Ring #1 & #2: Alternate shaper influnce: Life, add lightning damage vs shocked enemies, global critical strike chance, resistance, chaos resistance, dext, int
If able do this for both slots. Otherwise use a simple rare using the non-alternate ring #1.
How to: Get yourself a nice unset (or shaper base ring) and unfortunately your best bet once again is harvest crafting. Look for attack/critical crafts or just use alts looking for t1 life then regalling.
---------------------
Amulet (jade is best for most people): Life, +1 level of physical/lightning gems (both if you are crazy), lightning leeched as life, resistance, dext/int, chaos resistance | Annoints: Arcing blows is for the most part the best, divine wrath & divine judgement for budget
How to: You will need to do some more alva farming looking for lightning leeched as life amulets. You will combine them with either a +1 amulet or a +2 if you are crazy and a bit greedy. You can also use some Jun crafts
to get some interesting QoL but it is not needed.
---------------------
Belt | stygian vise hunter influence: Life, gain flask charge on critical strike, % increased life, resistance, chaos resistance
How to: Use harvest critical strike rolls to get the flaks on crit. If you are crazy and want to go for double influence you can fuse with crusader and try and hit increased crit vs shocked enemies for even more damage.
---------------------
Cluster Jewel: You only really need the 1 large cluster you can add medium critical clusters but I think it's a bit over kill and compromises a lot of defence to do it so I will only focus on the large.
Large: Feed the fury and fuel the fight are the only required notables anything else is bonus
Jewels: Watchers eyes are nice but other than that get some nice rare jewels with life, crit multi, crit chance
Eye Jewels: Blind on hit is pretty amazing for us as we are evasion other than that get critical multi/chance and life
------------------------------------------
The Brain Rattler went significantly further than I ever expected. It makes for a very fun and unique zoomy map farmer with a moderate ceiling to boost your damage.
For a janky SSF character I give it a 7/10

please read the notes before asking any questions! If you do have a question that is not in there I am always more than happy to answer.
At the time of recording I got this character to level 93 by farming t16 maps but I think I am going to use it mostly for farming bulk missions/scarabs like einhar and expedition really quickly.
I was able to take down some pinnacle bosses with it such as sirus/maven. The fights were a bit longer but I was very safe thanks to the incredible speed of 75 rage leap slam zerker.
Brick it or build it is a series about double corrupting uniques (mostly weapons) and forcing builds using them. I really love making janky builds and this adds a fun unique challenge for me to play around. The goal is to take advantage of as much of the item as possible (ideally all of it) so we will be making build choices with that in mind.
