As soon as Vaal Smite was revealed, I knew I would have to make a build around it.
With voidforge getting mad buffs, I've decided that there's only one option for me to start the league with: yolo voidforge berserker with abyssus, loreweave and all the good stuff. Not knowing Voidforge's upcoming price, it was quite a risk to take, but I did it anyways, and somehow it paid off, and our favourite two handed unique has not become as expensive as it could.
The result of my leap of faith is this.

Right now I'm absolutely steamrolling through every content I can think of (except ubers, I don't aim for ubers in this build), so I've decided to share my character.
All pinnacles I fought were killed with great ease, aside from Sirus and Cortex, just because I didn't need to do them yet, and I'm spending currency on other things, you are tanky enough to withstand most hits, and your damage is just overwhelming, so most fights and phases don't last long. Also for Maven if you aren't sure of your last phase laser dodges, deselect Rite of Ruin ascendancy. It's instant death.
Sanctum guards are getting killed in few hits, and Smite's aoe has good range going for it, so you don't really feel the "melee issues" that whole reddit is talking about.
Doing maps, legions, expeditions, fully specced in atlas feels amazing. Of course it's berserker, so you will die from time to time, but trust me in that the amount of deaths in relation to the satisfaction and speed you feel with this build is miniscule. Though there are some mods that you should be looking out for, like physical reduction overwhelm in remnants, they will one shot you.
Build premises:
- Determination with defiance banner, and fortify for defense, pretty standard.
- Petrified Blood with overleech achieved by having just a little less than 50% life reservation. Thanks to being always on low life, your Bloodthirst support gets its effects all the time. And Voidforge multiplies these effects, since it's flat phys.
- Freezing and shocking left and right.
- Source of life on hit for heavy damage over time, in this case I went for vitality watcher's eye.
Here's an example of what my Cemetery run looks like, with pack size from scarabs, expedition and beyond:

I hope you guys like this fun experiment with voidforge and smite, I myself couldn't believe I can have so much fun from a melee build that isn't Lightning Strike. Everything went far above expectations. Also, I'm not really a big brain build creator, so of course in that pob import there's a lot to optimize and push further, or even change completely to work even better - and that's great, because flexibility with build is also important.
