THIS IS A FULL GUIDE ON A ELEMENTAL FLICKER LEAGUE START AND END GAME BUILD. THIS WILL COVER EVERYTHING FROM START OF THE CAMPAIGN TO COMPLETING THE ATLAS. ----Atlas trees---- https://poeplanner.com/a/C3Z Expedition atlas (My ugly friends tree) https://poeplanner.com/a/C7d Harvest/abyss tree- This is what i normally run I am working on creating my own filter for this build but i have never done one before. This will take me some more time. For now here is the link to the filter blade website. This is currently what i use for filters. https://www.filterblade.xyz/ -----experienced flicker players please see bottom----- -----This color is general information----- -----This color is BEGINNER information----- -----This color is this build information------ -----This color is a side note------- Config for the Path of building to match the build----- max = full frenzy power and inspiration charges. full chill(30) shock (30) and 1 ignite. in cats stealth. combat rush active. leeching pinnacle guard SCROLL TO THE RIGHT ON THE LARGE PARAGRAPHS I created this build for anyone who wants to try a flicker strike build but doesnt know how to. This can be pushed further There are trees for every skill, level and step of the process you need. Normal flicker builds are physical with an axe but if we go elemental flicker with Raks greatsword we can get just as good damage without much change from our original oros sacrifice setup. Early game leveling- EDIT- Splitting steel was buffed kinda so you dont have to call back stuff. This could be used to level or any ele-melee skill but explosive arrow scales with gem level so its good with 0 gear or investment. For the gear listed you can craft on any of the mods that might help you, or you can do vendor recipies. Here is more information on the crafting bench https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Crafting_Bench Here is the list of items from vendors https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Vendor_recipe_system 1- 16 GALVANIC ARROW ---Shit sucks. Early game leveling for this character is rough to start out. I went for a galvanic arrow with a mirage archer and a shrapnel batista to start. Grab any of the movment skills that you enjoy using. We do use leap slam later in the endgame build so feel free to have it in a off hand socket. {you can carry more than one set of weapons. The second set of weapons will also get exp even tho you are not using them. ALWAYS HAVE AS MANY GEMS AS YOU CAN IN THE OFF HAND TO CORRUPT} In the first act make sure you are doing the side mission s in the areas. The only one you dont have to do is the clear everything the area side mission. This will give you extra skill points and grabbing the medical chest will give you a quicksilver flask which increases movement speed and sppeds up runs. {At the end of the campagin you can type "/passives" into the chat to see what skill point quest you didnt do.} Be sure to be upgrading your flasks as soon as you see it is not healing you as fast. you can buy these from vendors. 12-32 LIGHTNING ARROW ---After level 12 we are going to pick up lightning arrow, batista totem and multiple projectiles support from nessa. This makes things a lot better. You can supplement what feels best. Added fire damage will have more single target dps. This will be our leveling skill for the time being. This scales wall up past act 5-6 (with good bow) and will clear very fast. Be on the lookout for high fire rate bows as well because we will be switching to explosive arrows later on. Try and find bows with high ele damage rolls and replace every couple acts. Also look for added damage on quiver, gloves and jewelry. On our tree we are grabbing attack speed and running towards the totem tree for the early game. We will be needing all the orbs of regret we can find foe switching to flicker strike later. Herald of ice and vitality are helpful because we don't use much mana to cast totems so feel free to stack up any reserve skills. Check the endgame builds for what gems we are using and start to level them up. This is where you might start to feel a little squishy so make sure at end of act 5 we start getting our elemental resist on our gear We need to kill all three of the bandit lords for the extra skill points Starting in to mid-early leveling. If you feel powerful you can try to run lab here. Use summons like ice or stone or fire golem If your are reading this then you know to download pob and how to use it so im going to assume that you know how to run Labs. If not please read this page https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Lord%27s_Labyrinth 32-67 EXPLOSIVE ARROW---We are switching to explosive arrows. EA scales well without much investment due to the skill just needing gem levels for damage. We can scale this by leveling the gem, attack speed, and number of fuses. So we are using totem EA with lesser projectiles. We can switch to faster attack support for bosses but it is not necessary. YOU CANNOT HAVE ANY PIERCE OR EA WILL NOT WORK. Use elemental damage with attacks to scale EA damage. This is enough damage and tank without any ascendancy being taken. I have run to 67 without doing trials. If you place another EA in your fire slot with mirage archer it will increase your dps due to #of fuses on the target with the totem. Unfortunately the only ascendancy that matters is Bane of legends. Some good items here are: Quill rain unique bow or any bow with +level of socketed gems (you have to socket your gems in the bow if using the +level ones) READ THIS WHOLE NEXT SECTION CAREFULLY. THIS IS WHERE MOST PEOPLE CANT GET FLICKER TO WORK IF YOU DONT FOLLOW THIS SECTION -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OROS FLICKER STRIKE- FLICKER BASICS- There is a few things we need to understand about flicker strike builds in general. There are three main rules to flicker. 1. Flicker go burrrr, flicker only works well if flicker is going burrr. 2. If flicker is not going burr we are dead. 3. Things cant kill you if they dead Flicker strike is a movement skill that uses frenzy charges to use the skill without waiting for the cooldown. So the main goal is to gain more frenzy charges than you use. This is the only thing that is necessary to make flicker strike work. Oros flicker strike uses oros sacrifice unique sword to gain a frenzy charge every time it ignites an enemy. This is how we are maintaining all of our frenzy charges. Our first goal is to increase our chance to ignite the target 100% of the time. We are using multistrike so anything more than 50% should upkeep but it will feel much better the more ignite chance you have. This is why we take the nodes that give us ignite chance. Once you have high ignite chance and oros you can now start using flicker. It is important we grab Tribal Fury in the bottom left of the tree in order to get splash damage to surrounding targets. Also we are grabbing the non vall skills will attack one additional target mastery. We are also grabbing ancestral protector and warchief with multi totems for big targets. This helps raise our attack rate which is the second biggest dps increase we can get. Flicker strikes dps is based off of attack hit damage and attack speed. We are going to raise these two things by: increasing base attack speed, attack speed per frenzy charge, max frenzy charge, attack damage, elemental damage, elemental damage with attacks, dam with two handed swords, and MOST important is crit damage and chance. We will need some accuracy rating to bring our hit chance up to 100%. We can grab this on our gear or in our tree. Find what works best for you. Our defense is slim but still there. Our best defense is that things can kill you if they are dead. Even a shit flicker will still kill most things in one hit and is so fast that mobs will not hit you. Our goal for play is to not get hit as much as possible. if mobs explode then run, any ground effects hurt so don't stand in them, if an elite hits hard, run if you see soul eater elite, run play a hit and run play style if you dont want to die in the midgame. Sometimes we will be hit. Our goal is to survive one single hit, this is all we need to survive with how much leech we have. If we are attacking we are leeching our full health almost instantly so if we can survive that single hit we will be full health before the next hit. I try to aim for 60%evade and around 40-50% dam reduction from armor. This can be adjusted to what feels best. Flicker feels better with high dam. ----Your gameplay will feel as follows. Use flicker strike for clearing all standard packs or mobs including most rares. If you come into contact with a mob with more health we will need to first cast ancestral warchief than protector. This gives us more melee damage and attack speed for beefer targets. We also have an evasion and armor flask for tanking hits from bosses. This might help but most big slams or any graphed attack you can avoid, get out of the way of. hold flicker till the boss dies and repeat. If you are in the Raks build you will also cast vortex on the boss. Make sure bonechill is linked. Also remember to use molten shell on any hit that you can avoid. ------notes from youtube comments------ (comment on the youtube videos for help. I will always respond) -You can find your chance to ignite on hit in the character screen under the flicker skill dps page in game. You can link combustion support if you need more ignite chance -It's going to feel way better at 80% or more ignite chance and you shouldn't really run flicker until you get the tribal fury node that allow you to do area damage and get the mastery for non Val skills attack on additional target. -(Bottom left corner of pasive tree) -Added note Flicker won't do the big burrr that you see until you get your attack speed above 7-8 ish but it still works. There are cut offs for cool down skills it will feel realllllly good if your attack speed iss above 10.5. -This will struggle the most at maven and ubers. You have to be right on top of the boss so maven mechanics suck. -This is the absolute best mapping build in my opinion. -Also this is not a super tanky build. It can survive like 1 hit from 90% of bosses and your recovery is stupid fast. -I have cleared all void stones bosses every league (use ice crash on maven) -I play scared. Don't face tank mechanics or obvious high damage hits. Avoid explode death mechanics This is a really really really great mapper. I have killed uber elder every season without issue and I think you could if you look up guides with this build. If you are new and want to uber boss, run zizerans EA build. It's a solid build and can kill ubers but boring to play. I'd also recommend like a toxic rain or any totem build if you are new. Ubers are no joke and it took me like 400 hours to get my first clears. If you decide to play this build use ice crash for ubers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We are self casting vortex in raks build for bonechill Switch Hatred with purity of elements until frost immune 67+ OROS FLICKER--- We are finally starting flicker strike. We will need to be invested into ignite and the tribal fury tree as said above. Make sure to reas the above notes for further details Below I am going to list the gear progression that you should take to improve your dps. Once you feel comfortable you should run the labs. I dont feel it is necessary to run the uber lab until we get into raks greatsword. GEAR PROGRESSION- 1. fire exposure on hit glove- This will need to be swapped out after switching off oros. karoms was BIS but nerf to glove feels bad. ---This is no longer a cheap amulet due to it being moved to a uber. Use the lapis amulet i have in the oros build until you can afford this---- (moved down) Yoke of suffering 2.Darkray vector boots- THIS IS THE CHEAPEST but is the least helpful. +1 frenzy charge is big and gives good defenses 3. Helm and chest- try and get a 6 slot chest or sword but also cover your defenses here and max out your res. (Phys to ele damage helm is huge for ehp) 4. Rings- these are really an open slot to play with. scale damage with attack speed, elemental damage with attacks, % damage. ----anoint frenetic for more frenzy charges. BIG CURRENCY CHANGE STARTING HERE AND WILL OPEN UP FLICKER TO ANY KIND OF BUILD YOU WANT. still less than 10 div in endgame build 5. Farruls Fur- This chest is what allows us to drop oro's sacrifice. This chest piece gives us our full stack of frenzy charges when we gain cats stealth. So to get cats stealth we will need the modifier that grants lvl20 aspect of the cat either on a ring or on a helmet THESE ITEMS MUST BE USE TOGETHER 6. Rakiatas dance greatsword- WE NEED FARRULS FUR FIRST. This is a high dps sword for elemental damage which is good but most important is that it takes the enemies stats as reversed. This means if they have 50% resistance to fire damage they now instead have 50% fire exposure. This allows us to focus all on elemental damage (Takes incresased fire/cold/lighting damage stacks with this) 7 Yoke of suffering-This gives us a multiplier of damage if they are shocked ignited and chilled. up to 10% for each. This is the best in slot for this build even in endgame build. YOU WILL NEED SOME SORT OF DAMAGE OF EACH TYPE COLD, LIGHTNING, AND FIRE FROM THE SWORD 8. upgrade rings for more damage. 9. Replica Abyssus gives around 50% dam increase but this will feel super squishy. (for more ehp find a double phys dam to ele damage taken rare helm) 10. Replica Farruls Fur- gives endurance charges 11. Ralakesh boots- act as if on full endurance charges for lots of ehp 12. arns anguish- gives brutal charges instead of endurance for more damage 13. clusters- feel free to play with what u can find. the less passives on clusters the better but they are more expensive. Below is the tree progression and some more notes for switching to the raks greatsword. TREE PROGRESSION- 1. If still using oros we need to have ~80% plus ignite chance. Also the 100%increased damage if the target is ignited fire mastery (far left on tree) is a huge dam increase 2. keep your hit chance at 100% take whatever nodes you need for that. 3. Crit damage and chance are your biggest straight dps per point 4. Attack speed and damage are next in line. this is best done through max frenzy charges and attack speed nodes 5. The fortify tree is nice to have (bottom left, need mastery as well) 5. max life is nice to have and will let you take bigger hits. Dropping oros because farruls fur 1. drop all ignite chance nodes. we are also dropping fire damage nodes cause most our damage is now cold and lightning 2. grabbing the frenzy tree bottom middle 3. adding all remaining points to attack dam speed and ele damage and clusters ------If you are an experienced flicker player----- This is as far as I am probably going to take this guide but ik that this is not optimized in its current state. I am somewhat new to build creation (880 hours played) and know that i might be missing out on some things. This is meant to be for someone who is ~50 hours play time who sees the skill and wants to play it. This being said, if your an experienced flicker builder and can help optimize past here, I am very open to conversation and advice. If you have any helpful information please notifiy me in the comments of where you found this. -Ik the build is lower in dps -ik the build is lower in ehp in oros -Ik it might be weird to level with bow skills -The reason i am not running big dam items (mageblood/bottled faith/etc) is to keep the build cheap and accessable -Tattos are back this season and could add a lot to the build but i dont want to dive into that until the league starts -I am selfcasting vortex for bonechill -could go cast on damage taken for molten shell but i am not going to put it here cause its good for new players to learn when they should cast it -I am using ice crash for pretty much just maven or any boss i dont want to be close to. wild strike works as well. -Val pact is good, not needed tho. am open to arguement cause we can still get rage with a corrupt glove with a +frenzy (52m dps in my most current dps build)
