LEAPERSLAMMER's Notes
This build is basically like RF, except you leap slam through the map rather than shield charge, you actually have good single target damage so you can do t17 bosses and ubers without wanting to die, and you are not constantly damaging yourself.
My last post got some interest so I am back with a more detailed post and a league start miniguide. Since then I have greatly improved my gear and have killed Uber Shaper (with 2 deaths because I am absurdly bad at the game, seriously just look at how bad I am in the video)
MY CURRENT ENDGAME POB (Merc included in config) https://pobb.in/WJNGRVr46kIS
DPS: 15 million max roll ignite, 10 million average.
34k phys max hit
66k elemental max hit
373k effective hp
70/72% block
4 Endurances charges, 100% uptime 20 fortify (watch uber shaper video for proof)
Everything automated (including flame surge and 2 max rank curses) except enduring cry and frostblink.
PoB without mercenary included in configs: https://pobb.in/DNJlG0MvLBtv (13.5 million dps, phys max hit goes down to 20k, everything else the same)
LEAGUE STARTER BRIEF GUIDE
POB: https://pobb.in/zzHWBCGafvL9
This PoB is my actual ingame character's gear and tree was it was on day 3 of the league, doing alch and go red maps.
Use fireball/holy flame totem/flamewall until first lab.
After first lab you can already swap to LSOG. Take Shaper of Flames and put on a nice 1h sword for your lvl with attack speed and flat ele damage rolls with a shield. Then just leap slam through the campaign. For the passive tree, #1 priority is ELEMENTAL OVERLOAD and GOLEM COMMANDER. After that, focus on life nodes and resist nodes first, with some damage along the way when you have enough life nodes, and lastly block nodes.
Second lab, take Liege of the Primordial. Golems are a huge power boost and fix a ton of problems the build would otherwise have all at once: they cap your chaos res, give you mana regen, attack speed, life regen, and a huge AOE increase, all while also giving you around 15% more damage.
Third lab, take Mastermind of Discord and make sure to buy Eye of Malice or get Fire Exposure implicit from Eater of Worlds influence so that you can activate it.
Fourth lab, take Bastion of Elements. This node is amazing especially since you have block (so it's almost always up for big hits) and you take a large portion of phys as fire, which it then mitigates.
At level 54, buy BRONN'S LITHE and at least 4 link it. This body armor gives you roughly 42% more damage, and around 54% more if you get one with a +2 aoe gems corruption. It is absolutely required as it's basically the entire reason to use Leap Slam of Groundbreaking over another skill.
At level 64, buy REBUKE OF THE VAAL asap. This sword is a huge power spike with massive flat damage and only falls off in late t16 maps. I got my 4 watchstones while still using it when I had around 2 million DPS.
Once you reach red maps, transition from 1h/shield to 2h staff. This doubles your damage once you can get a good enough staff.
Buy an ilevel 84+ 1.3 attack speed staff with a fracture on t1 flat lightning, cold, or fire. T2 or even t3 is fine as well if you're on a budget.
Essence spam either flat lightning or fire essence (depending on your fracture) until you get at least t2 flat elemental or chaos. You want to use lightning or fire and not cold because they roll much higher than cold so they are priority over it.
The staff needs to be ilevel 84 to include chaos as a possibility. It's not required but it makes your chance of getting a t1 flat prefix considerably higher because you have 2 acceptable rolls instead of 1.
We do not need any type of damage in particular, because Shaper of Flames no longer has a damage boost based on your damage type, so it doesn't matter if it's elemental or chaos anymore.
Then, craft prefixes cannot be changed and reforge attack speed. If this leaves you with an open suffix, craft fire damage over time multiplier, and you're done for now.
You can also use a veiled chaos orb instead of reforge attack speed, but this has a chance of failing and not giving you something usable. Only do it if you have enough currency to keep trying if it fails.
You can use my endgame PoB as a rough guide for how to spec once you swap to staff, but it's pretty intuitive. Drop shield block nodes and replace them with staff block nodes. Take the 2 important staff masteries (life on block and hp/mana per socket). Get Enigmatic Defence anointed on your amulet. Then if you're still lacking on block, resistances, or stats, take the jewel sockets that you have pathed to and buy jewels with whatever you need to make up for it.
MAP MODS TO AVOID FOR THIS BUILD ALWAYS: Phys reflect, No regen, Reduced recovery rate, Chance to avoid elemental ailments
MAP MODS YOU NEED TO AVOID IN JUICED MAPS BECAUSE THEIR EFFECT GOES OVER 100%: Reduced curse effect, Reduced chance to block, Monster block chance
MAP MODS YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT, BECAUSE THEY CAN MASSIVELY REDUCE YOUR DAMAGE IF STACKED WITH OTHER MODS: Cannot inflict exposure, Hexproof, reduced effect of curses
REGEX FOR EASY ENDGAME MAP ROLLING: "!o bl|yers c|f ph|o al|'v|acl|r li|pet|vola|s rec|rke|rses|wni|lm|hex|ever|wb" "y: r" pte
I played this build from league start all the way to what was honestly a pretty shockingly easy Uber kill given how terrible I am at the game and the fact I am literally playing on a laptop with a gpu that runs at 90 degrees celsius.
So if I can have such a good time with this build, you will only do better. Have fun!
PS: If anyone has any suggestions for how I can scale further from here, please feel free to let me know. I am not good at the game and got here winging it as I went along. I've been inventing upgrades for myself the whole way through, and am quickly running out of ideas for how to get even more dps/survivability.
