The Gear section has Squire equipped so you can see what the DPS should be. PLEASE make sure to swap the shield to Aegis Aurora to see your EHP.
PLEASE also read the Squire section as it will tell you important info about how to use Squire in this build. We are ALWAYS going to be running Aegis Aurora and Duel Wielding Squire.

Swapping from Occultist to Necro
Swapping over to Necro from Occ should be one of your first priorities.
Not only does Necro give more Single Target damage but we can gain all of the benefits of Occ through the new Affliction Charms for Primalist.
This build started as Occ for leveling as I didn't know what the prices of Profane Bloom charms would be.
Now that we know that Tier 2 rolls are cheap, there's no reason to wait and we should swap over ASAP.
Necro will also give us 20% More Minion Life through Bone Barrier which will greatly help keep our new Spectres alive, more on them in the Spectre section below.
As for what points to pick, choose:
Commander of Darkness - Mindless Aggression - Unnatural Strength - Bone Barrier
You can also choose to drop Commander of Darkness or Bone Barrier for Mistress of Sacrifice if you'd like a longer duration on your Spiders.
What Charms to Use
We will be using the Primalist Affliction Ascendancy in this build giving us access to 3 Charm Slots which can give us mini versions of other Ascendancies.
There are a ton of useful options here but there are going to be 2 very specific ones that we need in this build.
First, you will need 2 Corvine Charms with "Cursed Enemies you or your Minions Kill have a x% chance to Explode, dealing a quarter of their maximum Life as Chaos Damage"
This is Occultist's Profane Bloom as a charm and we need this to be able to have a good map clear.
These can roll up to 15% which is expensive but something ~8-9% is good enough and is only ~100c.
Getting 2 9% rolls should feel more than good enough and you can always upgrade them to 15% rolls later for smoother clear.
You can get any other 2nd roll you'd like on the charm but anything good will be expensive and just the explode mod is enough.
Second, we want 1 Ursine Charm with "Banner Skills have no Reservation," this will make War Banner free which is a very large dps increase.
These quite a lot of good options here for a 2nd mod but the one I've preferred is "+x% to Chaos Resistance per Endurance Charge"
This allows us to chaos res cap easily as we always will have Endurance Charges due to our Spectres.
You can also choose to go either the "Maximum Spell Block" or "Maximum Attack Block" suffixes on the charm and these will give you a lot of extra EHP.
Swapping to Spectres
The new 3.23 Affliction Corpses allow us to add some incredibly powerful Spectres into our build.
These are overpowered and are so strong that they are a must have in every minion build in PoE currently.
Ancient Skull is way overvalued by PoB and it is nowhere as good as it sounds because each minion needs to crit individually to gain the 50% increased Damage and Attack Speed.
The Spiders have very low Crit Chance so only 4-5 ever are benefitting from the bonus meaning Ancient Skull is only ~25% as good as it seems.
There has never been a decent helmet option as we do not care about any sort of +Gems of any kind so Ancient Skull remained the best option.
Now that there are new super strong Spectres, we are going to drop it and add them in.
This swap is very simple, you just need the following:
Anoint Death Attunement on your Neck for +1 Spectres
Any helmet with "+2 to Level of All Minion Skill Gems"
Level 21 Raise Spectre
Level 3 Empower
This setup will give you a Level 25 Raise Spectre gem which is the breakpoint for it to gain 3 Maximum Spectres up from 2.
With Death Attunement this is then raised to 4 allowing us to fit in 4 powerful Spectres.
Link Raise Spectre as such anywhere you can fit the 4 link: Raise Spectre - Empower - Minion Life - Elemental Army
Really try to get a Level 21 Elemental Army with 20% Quality as both are breakpoints for "+1% to All Maximum Elemental Resistances".
Once you have everything setup, its time to choose our Spectres.
Personally, i've been running the following:
Perfect Guardian Turtle - Level 20 Determination & 5% Physical Damage Reduction
Perfect Forest Warrior - Culling Strike & AoE Onslaught Aura
Perfect Warlord - Level 20 Vitality & Permanent AoE Endurance Charges
Arena Master - AoE 20% More Damage, Attack Speed, Movement Speed that stacks with Onslaught
The perfect monsters can be bought on Trade by searching for those exact corpse names.
Arena Master can be gotten for free from other players, you can ask in /global 6666 or in /global 512 for help with Arena Masters.
There are other good spectres and if you'd like to learn more, I have a video on them here:
https://youtu.be/m1qtZ00xZuQ
I also have a full guide on adding in Spectres here:

Squire
Squire is incredibly powerful and will be what takes your dps from decent to absolutely insane. This is a shield you DO NOT want to run by itself but instead want to dual wield with an Aegis Aurora.
This is done by getting 2 different Arakaali's Fangs and setting up one with Squire and one with Aegis Aurora in a weapon swap.
Put Multistrike, Melee Splash & Withering Touch in the Arakaali's Fang equipped with the Squire.
Leave whatever gems you had in your Aegis there and put the following supports into Squire: Minion Damage, Unbound Ailments, & Damage on Full Life.
IF YOU WANT MORE AOE CLEAR: Swap Unbound Ailments for Melee Splash.
All that changes with Squire is that you now need to weapon swap with X to the Squire setup to summon spiders and then swap back to Aegis to maintain both the tankiness and dmg of both shields.
The 3 sockets in your Aegis Arakaali's Fang can be used for anything and dont need any specific gems inside of them.
You can also choose to drop Commander of Darkness or Bone Barrier for Mistress of Sacrifice if you'd like a longer duration on your Spiders.
This will make them last an additional ~12 seconds and if that's not enough, you can swap one of your supports for Increased Duration to make them last ~75 seconds in total.
If you wish to learn more, I have a whole video on this topic with some extra helpful tips here:

Gear
Basic overview of every slot and what to look for.
IN GENERAL - Fit Chaos Resistance on your Helmet, Rings, & Boots.
This build is almost Res Capped for free and needs very little extra resistances unless you want to be Elemental Weakness capped.
You will need 155 Dex which you should focus on the most. Remember to Catalyst gear.
You can try to fix it through Dex on your Abyss Jewels and on your Cluster but try to mostly fix it through your Rings first, and then Abyss Jewels second.
Helmet
The best helmet for this build is going to be a Rare helmet. We need "+2 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems" to get our Raise Spectre to Level 25 for a 4th Spectre.
Ideally, get an Energy Shield/Armor base. We are using Aegis Aurora to live and both stats are important for it to work.
Minion items are notoriously very annoying to craft and the average price to make a midgame item typically exceeds the price to buy a helmet someone ended up coming across.
This is due to there being no good way to hit any Minion Tag mods other than Bound fossils which are typically priced around extremely high end items/mirror items for minion builds.
Thus, we are just going to buy a helmet from trade. What we are looking for is an Open Prefix to craft "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Fire Damage" as this is an amazing defensive stat.
Below you can find a trade link for good helmets. You can adjust the filters as you see fit and if you'd like to see a cheaper helmet with more life, consider removing the Chaos Resistance filter as it will substantially reduce the price.
Trade Link:
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Affliction/LmoX9eGtn
Use "Lesser Eldritch Ichor" on the helmet to get "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Cold/Lightning/Fire Damage." The type doesn't matter as long as its NOT Chaos.
This is a massive EHP increase and I would recommend to use "Grand Eldritch Ichor'' if you can to hit 7%.
Use "Lesser Eldritch Ember" or "Grand Eldritch Ember" if you can afford it to hit "x% increased Despair Curse Effect." This is the only useful Exarch mod and is another massive damage increase.
This is a more endgame option of an Elder/Hunter Awakened helmet with "+2 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems" & "Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 20 Minion Life" as the Prefixes & "Nearby Enemies have -9% to Chaos Resistance" as a Suffix.
This helmet would be pretty difficult to craft as there is no simple way to get "+2 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems" on the helmet due to again, there being no way to target slam Minion other than Fossils which would brick the helmet.
Any helmet without "+2 to Level of all Minion Skill Gems" isn't viable due to us needing the +2 to make our Raise Spectre hit Level 25.
Chest
The only good chest in this build is The Brass Dome. It gives this build the majority of the Armour it needs to make Aegis Aurora work while also making you Crit Immune.
Crits will kill you very often in PoE and being able to never worry about them is one of the best defensive layers many people don't mention.
The most important thing here is the "+x% to all maximum Elemental Resistances" roll.
You really want to ONLY buy a Brass Dome with a +5% roll as each extra Maximum Resistance will be compounded and be better than the last.
Corrupted chest plates are very very strong in this case due to compounding Maximum Resistance.
Ideally we want to get "+1% to all maximum Resistances" on a chestplate with +5% Maximum Resistance.
These will be very very expensive but if you can get a +5% with +1% as a corrupted implicit, this is your Endgame chest.
If you buy one, linking it is very very easy and cheap.
Once you buy one, Corrupted Jeweller's Orb it to 6 sockets, these are very very cheap and will either add 1 or remove 1 socket from the chest.
It will take you ~40-60 Jeweller's to get the chest to 6 sockets.
Once you have it with 6 sockets, go to the bench and force 4 link it, this will cost a few Vaal Orbs but is not bad.
Then, use a Tainted Fusing Orb on it, this will be a straight up 50/50 on adding or removing a link. If it goes down to 3, force the 4 link again with the bench.
If it goes to a 5 link then it's a 50/50 for 6 links. If you lose it and it goes back down to 4 just try again. On average it should only take 4 Fusings to 6 link the chest.
Now, you could get unlucky and have it take more, I had a chest take 27 before but for the average person it should just be 4.
This allows us to get a massive massive damage increase for only a few div. RIP Tainted Fusing Prices
I have a video guide on how to 6 link a corrupted chest here:
https://youtu.be/Fqeu9F3IRME
IMPORTANT: Recoloring Brass Dome
Since we want 4B1G in our Brass Dome to fit all of the auras we need. We need to find a way to recolor the chest as Brass Dome has 177 Str requirement.
The easiest way to do this will be with Tainted Chromatic Orbs which when used will reroll every socket with a pure unbiased 1/3 chance of each color.
This should make it very easy to get 4B1G and should take ~40-50 at most assuming you dont get unlucky which will cost about 1-3 Div depending on the league.
Belt
For this build our best belt before Mageblood will be a Darkness Enthroned. We will be using Amanamu's Gaze to gain an incredible amount of dps which will require a lot of Jewel Sockets.
Darkness gives us 2 extra Abyss Jewel slots while also making them anywhere between 50-100% stronger.
Try to get yourself a belt as close to 100% as you can afford but you can always upgrade this later to a better roll so don't stress too much.
As for the Abyss Jewels to put inside, check the Jewel section below.
Weapon
The only weapon for this build is the one its named after, Arakaali's Fang.
If you are using a Squire, please make sure to read the Squire section at the top of the notes for important info on how to set up everything.
If you wish to min-max your Arakaali, you can look for a corrupted Arakaali with "x% chance to gain a Frenzy Charge on Kill"
When your Spider's Poison kills monsters, that counts as your kill which means you can gain Frenzy Charges.
This just gives you a little bit of extra Attack Speed to Whirling Blades around faster.
Shield
There are only 2 shields that would ever be considered for this build, Aegis Aurora & Squire.
We will always be using Aegis Aurora as our main shield because it is so incredibly busted at keeping basically any build alive that we can never hope to replace it.
We want to make sure we have enough Energy Shield to act as a big health buffer for Aegis to keep replenishing every time we take a hit.
Between Aegis, Divine Shield, and the Armour and Energy Shield Mastery that "Recovers 5% of ES over 1 Second when Hit by a Physical Hit" our ES will pretty much always be full.
If we ever do take damage, we will have a Level 20 Vitality from our Spectre to regen us as well as our Life Flask which is constantly recharging due to Soul of Ryslatha to top us back up.
Squire is a powerful shield that allows us to give 3 extra supports to anything in our Main Hand including any skills that are inherent to a weapon, like Raise Spider from Arakaali.
This allows us to get silly amounts of damage as Arakaali was balanced around it being a 4 Link and we can now make it a 7 Link.
Unfortunately, Squire makes us lose Aegis Aurora which is where the majority of our defenses come from.
Squire will never be used as a main shield in this build due to this. Instead, it will be Dual Wielded and only used to Snapshot the Spiders before swapping back to Aegis.
Please make sure to read the Squire section at the top to learn more.
I also have a whole video covering how to properly use Squire here:
https://youtu.be/lCWrhNxUnuY
Gloves
The glove slot is going to be upgraded from Gravebind to Breathstealer. Gravebind isn't really doing too much in terms of QoL and you won't notice much of a difference losing them.
Realistically, you were getting most of the kills in the first place as the Poison damage from the Spiders counts as your damage in the first place.
Breathstealer allows us to get an extra anoint which becomes very important when our Amulet is forced to be anointed with Death Attunement due to how good the new Spectres are.
We want to anoint Charisma as this will give us enough RMR to be able to fit all of the Auras in our chest when combined with an Enlighten 4.
The other nice thing about Breathstealer are the Blighted Spores it creates. These are mini Headhunter buffs that are stationary.
While it isn't very good for mapping where you will outrange them, they are an excellent bit of extra defense and dps increase in mechanics such as Sims, Ultimatum, Expedition, Delve, Harvest and any other stationally mechanic where you kill mobs.
Boots
The best boots for this build are Rare boots with Movement Speed, Life, Chaos Resistance & any Dex you need.
Ideally, get an Energy Shield/Armor base. We are using Aegis Aurora to live and both stats are important for it to work.
I was going to add a crafting guide but a pair of boots with all 4 of these mods at tier 2 or higher is only ~1 Div making buying a pair cheaper than trying to make them.
Trade Link:
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Affliction/PdYj4dMhL
Use "Lesser Eldritch Ichor" on the boots to get "x% Increased Life Regeneration Rate."
There are no other good Eater mods and this gives us ~60 Life Regen.
Use "Lesser Eldritch Ember" to hit "+1% to Maximum Fire Resistance" this roll only becomes +2% at Tier 2 or higher meaning you will need to Orb of Conflict it there.
You can also stop on a "x% increased Movement Speed" or "x% increased Action Speed" roll if you want more movement speed over extra EHP.
Rings
Rings are pretty flexible and can be used as filler slots for any Dex needed. In general try to get Life and Chaos Resistance if you need any more.
You will need 2 sources of "Non-Channelling Skills have -x to Total Mana Cost" as this will let you remove Lifetap from your Whirling Blades, Flesh Offering, Convocate setup and allows you to put them anywhere you'd like.
You can pretty easily get the majority of your Dex on your Boots due to them being so easy to get with High Dex and the other stats you'd want on them.
One extra Tier 1-2 Dex roll should be enough to get you to 155 Dex as long as you Catalyst the ring.
As for the bases you have 2 options, Unset Rings & Bone Rings. Unset Rings can potentially make fitting all of your gems easier but it isn't needed.
Bone Rings have access to the Minion mod pool allowing us to get powerful minion stats such as Movement Speed, Damage & Attack Speed.
Again, as for the Helmet & Boots, Minion gear is either super hard and expensive to make or too simple and cheap to craft.
Below is a trade link for decent ~1 Div and higher Bone Rings that should serve you well and be more than enough.
You can modify the search by changing the minimum number on the Sum to see cheaper rings or by changing the minimum Life.
You can also add in Dex if you are looking for a Dex ring.
Trade Link:
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Affliction/PdYkd87hL
Amulet
For an amulet you have 1 option on a low budget until Endgame where we can afford a more expensive option.
Impresence is an amazing amulet that allows us to use Despair as an AoE curse around us at no extra cost provided we have 2 gem sockets for Blasphemy - Despair.
Despair is a very large dps increase and there are no good ways to Curse on Hit in a minion build that isn't as consistent or that requires as little sockets.
There are also no good Amulets for minion builds making this a no-brainer.
Once you have a higher budget, you want to get yourself an Envy version of Aul's Uprising. This is a delve amulet that gives us the exclusive aura Envy.
Envy is just a massive flat chaos damage aura which beats the dps of Impressence & Despair while also giving us "x% increased Global Defences."
Global Defences is just a multiplier to Armour, Energy Shield, Evasion & Ward making our defensive layer even stronger.
Flasks
Flasks are going to be very simple in this build as there isn't anything special we need except generic Armour, Evasion & Movement Speed.
In terms of flasks for this build there is 1 major Unique flask to consider otherwise we just want normal flasks.
The Writhing Jar
Writhing Jar is the cornerstone of this build and is required for summoning our Spiders. This flask is unreplaceable and will always stick with us to the end of days.
There's no good way to attempt to play the game without it so Arakaali only plays with 4 flasks effectively.
Normal Flasks
We are going to want to run 3 Utility Flasks and 1 Life Flask in this build.
For the 3 Utility Flasks we are going to want: Quicksilver, Jade & Granite.
All this build really needs is generic tank stats so we are going to use our flasks for that specific purpose.
There isn't much else to say here other than make sure you focus on your flasks. These are with you at all times and are very much an extension of your build.
Make sure to upgrade to Tier 1 rolls when you can as it does make a difference and make the build overall feel better.
Flask Prefixes
On your 3 utility flasks you want "x% reduced Duration, 25% increased effect" as your Prefix.
We unfortunately dont have any sort of flask mods in this build allowing us to extend the duration of them so the uptime might not be the best until Mageblood.
Another option is to go for the Prefix "Gain x Charges when you are Hit by an Enemy"
This will give you 100% uptime in high density maps and might feel better than Increased Effect due to the higher uptime.
Flask Suffixes
There are 3 major Suffixes that we want to get on our flasks.
These can be gotten on any of the flasks and dont have any specific requirements, try to get then on any of the 3 utility flasks.
We need:
x% increased Movement Speed during Effect
x% increased Armour during Effect
x% increased Evasion Rating during Effect
Gems
There are some very powerful jewels for this build that we want to be on the lookout for.
Watcher's Eye is also a very important unique for this build helping us get closer to 100% of Physical Damage converted to elemental.
On a Watcher's Eye you want to prioritize the Purity of Elements mod over anything else.
All 3 of the "x% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Cold/Fire/Lightning Damage while affected by Purity of Elements" rolls are as good as each other.
If you can find one with 2 Purity Phys as Ele rolls on it that is more than enough for basically all content.
Watcher's Eye looks like an EHP decrease in PoB but that is only true against small hits that cant even kill you in the first place. Against big phys hits where you dont have 90% Phys DR, it is an EHP increase.
Impossible Escape is an incredible defensive tool and an amazing addition to the build to round it off.
We are looking specifically for an Imbalanced Guard version of Impossible Escape that will let us pick up Prismatic Skin & Soul of Steel which is an insane amount of extra Maximum Resistance.
If you want a lower budget version, you can get an Unwavering Stance version which will only hit Prismatic Skin but it will be substantially cheaper.
Amanamu's Gaze is one of the biggest dps increases you can make in this build. It scales our Poison damage incredibly quickly and is very important to pick up.
This jewel requires 4 other Ghastly Eye Jewels to be brought to full power as it itself counts as 1 for the Dot Multi.
You can socket this jewel anywhere on your tree but do not put it inside of Darkness Enthroned as it will not double its effect and you will just lose 1 Abyss Socket.
Ghastly Eye Jewels
These jewels will be where you will see a very significant dps increase in this build.
The Spiders gain dps very quickly from both Flat Phys and Flat Chaos which we can get in very large quantities on these Jewels.
We can also get lots of Maximum Life making up for the lack of it on some of our items.
Ideally, you really want the 2 socketed into your Belt to be your 2 best jewels as they will give you upwards to 15% of your dps per if the Tier of rolls on them are high.
The three main stats you will want to look for on these are:
Minions deal x to x additional Physical Damage
Minions deal x to x additional Chaos Damage
Minions deal x% increased Damage if you've used a Minion Skill Recently
Physical Damage is a lot stronger than Chaos Damage due to Unnatural Strength and Withering Touch converting Physical to Extra Chaos allowing us to double dip.
If you need a cheaper version, instead of looking for all 3 rolls, look for just Flat Phys and the Minion Skill Recently mods.
Try to also add Maximum Life onto these Jewels if it's within your budget.
Cluster Jewels
Typically in Arakaali builds, you want 2 Large Cluster Jewels to be able to ramp your dps to very high numbers.
Because of the Squire tech, we only need 1 Large Cluster now to hit Dot Cap which allows us to pick up some important passive points on the tree.
The Cluster Jewel is very simple in the requirements and there will be 3 versions; An Intro Jewel, A Midgame Jewel & An Endgame Jewel.
Intro Cluster Jewel
Look for a 10-12 Passive Point, Minion Large Cluster Jewel that is Item Level 68.
The closer you get to 12 Passive Points the more expensive it will be but at this ilvl these should all be cheap so go for 12.
Once you have the base, crafting the rest of the Cluster is super simple for a decent one.
Orb of Alteration spam the Cluster until you either hit "Added Small Passive Skills have 25% increased Effect" or "Added Small Passive Skills also grant: Minions have 2% increased Attack and Cast Speed"
If the cluster ends up having a 2nd mod on it that isn't one of those 2, try again until you have either of the 2 by themselves as a singular mod.
Then, use an Orb of Augmentation and hope you hit the other mod. It on average should take ~333 Orbs of Alteration to hit the 2 together when including Augmenting every time one of the 2 mods shows up alone.
Lastly, Regal and Exalted Orb the cluster in hopes for good stats. Some good options here are Maximum Life, Energy Shield & Chaos Resistance.
You don't want any Notable points as they all suck. If you end up Regaling and Exalting a Notable, you can try to craft it again or just leave it as is.
Midgame Jewel
Look for a 10-12 Passive Point, Minion Large Cluster Jewel that is Item Level 84.
The closer you get to 12 Passive Points the more expensive it will be. No matter what this base is always somewhat pricey.
Once you have the base, crafting the rest of the Cluster is super simple for a decent one.
Orb of Alteration spam the Cluster until you either hit "Added Small Passive Skills have 35% increased Effect" or "Added Small Passive Skills also grant: Minions have 3% increased Attack and Cast Speed"
If the cluster ends up having a 2nd mod on it that isn't one of those 2, try again until you have either of the 2 by themselves as a singular mod.
Then, use an Orb of Augmentation and hope you hit the other mod. It on average should take ~2150 Orbs of Alteration to hit the 2 together when including Augmenting every time one of the 2 mods shows up alone.
YOU NEED both 35% increased Effect AND 3% Attack Speed otherwise the 35% effect WILL NOT raise the 3% Attack Speed to 4%.
Endgame Jewel
Start with a Fractured "Added Small Passive Skills have 35% increased Effect" Item Level 84 12 Passive Cluster Jewel.
These will be very very expensive but the Fracture will allow you to create a perfect jewel for this build.
Use 2 Socket Resonators with a Shuddering & Pristine fossil to hit "Added Small Passive Skills also grant: Minions have 3% increased Attack and Cast Speed" & "Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +(8-10) to Maximum Life"
Hitting both Tier 1s is a ~1/147 chance. You can choose to go for Tier 2 Maximum Life instead which makes it a ~1/63 chance basically halving the price of the craft.
Once you have your desired 2 mods, Exalted Orb slam for the last Suffix and hope you get either Tier 1 Chaos Resistance or Intelligence.
