Hello! This is an Unfinished Build Attempt for Raise Spectres of Transience

While I do think the gem and the build have promise, I don't have the motivation to really complete it. So I am putting together this post to catalogue my findings. Hopefully someone with better minion knowledge and build making capabilities can complete my work!

-The Gem Itself

-Raise spectre of Transience has two aspects of it that differentiate it from the original: 1000^(%) Critical strike chance and an added duration. It also has quality scaling that adds 1 more spectre per 20% quality.

What people usually do when writing off the skill is the duration and the inability to maintain consistent spectres. This makes it especially hard to scale the spectres in a specific way, because now the supports have to be generic otherwise they might be waste on a spectre with no projectiles.

Getting (more) Consistent Spectres: The Spectre Bank

The trans spectre gem doesn't add spectres to the desecrate pool, but the original gem still does. You can actually "Bank" perferred spectres with the original gem, then unsocket it and still have the spectres in the descrate pool! This is the tech that Detonate Dead uses to get high HP corpses, but now we can use it to have better, more consistent spectres!

with 4-5 original sprectres saved, you can, on average, have 50% of the spectres summoned be the special ones you saved ,while the other 50% will be maps mobs. This does not mean a fully consistent spectre team, but it at least means you'll always have some heavy hitters when summoned.

Which ones did I uses?

-Primal Crushclaw (THE DAMAGER. Hits hard, has a clear ability. Is also super noticable as a corpse, so you know when you hit the jackpot with this one if you see it)

- Pale Sephrim (Single target dps. attacks like crazy and adds addition multiplier to attacked enemies)

- Brittle Matron (big bear. I chose it because the slam looked cool)

- Crazed Driver ( picked it by accident. carried its weight though)

I linked an unleash to the raise spectre gem in order to make summoning them easier.

Scaling: Skill level and Crit Multi

So now that we have the Big Issue relatively covered, we now go on to scaling the damage.

- Maata's Teachings gives our minions a base 8.88 crit chance, with the massive 1000% chance increase, we are almost that crit cap with just this weapon alone. Necessary item

- Severed in sleep: wither at 15 stacks would give 75% crit multi, which is one of the highest sources in the game for minions ( can be replaced with a crit multi shield after reconsideration)

- The Covenant: While probably not the best choice, it was used for a good added damage to make up for the unleash addition for qol.

Basic minion skill tree addition.

Defenses: my weakest link

Gonna be honest I was bad with defenses. all I had was some of the necromancer tree items, some taunt, and a high energy shield pool. If I was to switch over to a minion shield I would probably be able to solve this issue, but as stated before I am loosing motivation for the build and am low on currency

Potential additions

Wraith Lord: While this build was original inspired as a means of using the wraith lord, I don't necessarily think it would benefit it. You would loose some utility from an Animate guardian and meat shields. (Though, it would be possible to use it to add utility spectres to the desecrate pool, but that would need testing to see if it was worth it)

Animate Guardian: I don't like this guy, but if you're making a high end minion build he has to be there to wear all your shiny expensive items and potentially lose them when A blight boss shows up. (this is what happened to me)

Full Necro Defenses: Probably worth the investment going Fourth Vow, Divine Flesh, and determination to become a tank. Especially considering the saved prefixes needed for minion defenses since we don't care about our spectres dying.

Conclusion:

Build has potential, I can attest to that. The gem is not completely useless, and honestly I'm happy just knowing that I had fun with it for a decent amount of time. This was a fun experimentation, even if it didn't reach "end game viability" with my hands. maybe with someone elses!
