Why Perforate: Good damage, tolerable AoE, and multi-hit (3 hit avg), which is necessary for reliable bleed aggravation and high bleed damage rolls.

Be prepared to die occasionally for unknown reasons. Also, sometimes a character may pretend to be dead, it can be cured by taking damage.
Overall impression: a bit slow and clunky. I think expensive version would be much more effective. You need +1 frenzy rings and spell suppression tattoos, then you can go to the right side of the tree and max out spell suppression, inc max life and frenzy charges.
