cast speed doesent properly calculate in pob but its massive for hydrosphere

early get life res and cast speed / spell level mods(wands, amulet, shield)

next start to stack spell suppress to convert to crit when you have enough points to invest into crit nodes

dual void batteries with high cast speed roll + badge of brother hood is biiig power spike with massive cast speed

torrent reclamation belt makes smooth build to feel smoother and gives you bonus movement speed, cooldown(vortex and frostblink) and nice cast speed increase, can often snipe good grace/cast speed corrupted one for cheap if you go torrent route its slightly tankier than cowards, but you might need to invest into some mana sustain to counter huge cast speed torrent gives

cowards is the best dps belt but makes you abit squishier, few things you can think about counteracting the vulnerability curse is, atziri reflect shield(loose 1 void battery = 1 frenzy charge), watcher eye with determination gives unaffected by vulnerability, shaper mod ring with reduced curse effect on you, bleed avoid + armor stack but then you probably have to go left side of the tree to get strength and scale armour also you probably cant afford invest into spell suppression then(crit and spell mitigation)

can also go for just flat life and res belt, get stygian and get good resist+life roll, fill suffix slots and slam redeemer exalt for either cold dmg against chilled, flat cold dmg % or evasion%, all good outcomes, and overall cheap to craft

elusive is big defensive on boots(redeemer) then you can awakener tailwind / onslaught

body armor, get spell crit(HUNTER influence, not shaper) and get frenzy charge on hit(redeemer) awakener those together, lock suffixes and reforge caster with harvest to get +1 curse, other mods to look for is spell suppression/res/life

helmet you can go any evasion es helmet, most important is 30% pulse frequency enchant

try to snipe blizzard crown 83+ ilvl with pulse frequency enchant, then slam it with warlord exalt alt spam +1 power charge, then get any other helmet with shaper, get cold dmg to spells, awakener with the blizzard crown, then you have cold dmg to spells and +1 powercharge on prefix, depending what you get on other mods, you can lock prefix and harvest reforge crit to get 50/50 chance to get what you want which is crit multi on suffix, you can also get socketed skills have #% crit chance(not that useful, but can use vortex links here if you get it)

gloves get essence of horror(i think) to spam for decent suppress/life/res gloves to make gloves to have vortex in, we want vortex to have as high crit as we can so it will freeze our hydrosphere, i just keep vortex on left click and run with hydrosphere slightly ahead of me and it stays frozen 99% of the time during mappin

bottled faith is good ofc

forbidden flesh/flame jewels best are elementalist exposure -25%, ESPECIALLY if you run blizzard crown, then your biggest dmg modifier is spell penetration > cast speed = added spell dmg = crit multi = spell dmg

good defensive layers are chaos res node at shadow side, anomalous flesh and stone(evasion from quality + blind and projectile dmg)

try to snipe englighten gems aswell to be able to eventually run purity of elements for ele ailment avoidance

you dont need curse on hit on rings, you can just run all 3 curse on arcanist brand for bosses, if you run some juice maps/5way etc breach stack/deli maps and blight, its nice to have curse on hit, but not necessary

other stuff to note

shadow has dagger 3point node for 40% elusive effect with culling on crit on mastery, can be nice

build is quite str starved depending what you run, 30 str nodes are quite handy for those

3k life is fine if you have 1k es to buffer that with ghost dance

early clusters you can go for are block(mage hunter/conjure wall etc), build ends up being quite point starved later on so if you can go for 8 passive 3 node (least travel nodes) if you can afford

build does good at bossing, fast mapper, satisfying clears and shatter pops, big strong freezes being great defensive layer

has multiple ways to scale the dmg, works great as starter, its overall great build to do all different content in the game, goes super well with mageblood and headhunter if you happen to have those
