Amazed I haven't heard a bunch of talk about this thing before and had to test it myself ONE WEEK into the league. Ridiculously fun ability/concept/theme of it all. Even before the spear the playstyle was fun to go through the campaign, just make sure to upgrade weps/rings as you go and it should feel strong. All my char mtx are from new mystery box btw.
