Ive seen lots of builds talking about how the new Tainted Pact amulet, which gives "chaos dot heals you while leeching life" is not working properly, or how its inconsistent and people keep dying when their leech ends. Im currently playing a Impending Doom Scion, which seems to be working decently with it; it doesnt die to lack of leech and has decently sized poisons, its nothing fancy or expensive but it feels very resilient while taking damage from packs of mobs, or tanking boss mechanics while attacking, and i havent even invested much in defenses. This build does T16 rare maps with ease and only has a few modifiers which brick it. The main points of the build are:
1- Tainted Pact amulet, obviously.
2- We get Scion, and pick the Slayer and Occultist nodes for, respectively, Overleech effect and +1 curses.
3- 100% poison chance, this is from Divergent Herald of Agony and a few passive points in the skill tree, as well as a Annoint on our amulet.
4- We are using the Golden Rule unique jewel to reflect all poisons to ourselves.
5- Since Impending Doom doesnt leech, and its very hard to get consistent life leech from chaos damage, we use a Watcher's Eye with "1% of damage is leeched as life while affected by Vitality" and a lvl 1 Vitality.
6- Impending Doom gives sizeable Chaos damage hits, which means it also inflicts decent size poisons to heal you, so you dont need too many poisons to heal lots of life.
With this Pob (linked below), the build gets 2.1 second duration on poisons, which are always less then your life leech duration (so you never die from lack of leech while poisoned). I dont think its anything new or amazing, but it shows that the Tainted Pact amulet works, and with some fine tuning (and lots more Physical, Elemental and Chaos Max hits) it could be very tanky.
A few considerations: I keep dying to losing all my ES (using Eldritch Battery and Mind Over Matter, no ES=no cast, which means i cant heal), so this build archetype might not be the best. Mobs which you cannot leech from = instant death from self poisons. I considered making the poisons last longer, but after too much duration you will start to die from lack of leech, so this still needs some fine tuning. I have not tried using Petrified Blood or Progenisis with this build either, but its likely a good idea. Also, my flask uptime is not consistent, so take that into consideration (you could probably get almost permaflasks with Sandstorm Visage, i think, as you could get close to 100% crit chance which would refill flasks faster). Pob shows poison damage AGAINST ENEMIES, not on yourself, so the poison you take per second is likely lower than it shows on Pob. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, or if i got something wrong, let me know, this is my first try at a builds post
PS: on my Pob there is a custom mod on the configuration tab, "42069 more cast speed". Someone from a build guide i saw said its supposed to make the Dps more accurate, as Pob doesnt properly show Impending Doom's Dps. I do not know wheter this is true or not, but the dps does FEEL closer to actual dps with this, rather then without this custom mod. Again, im not claiming this Pob is perfect, or this is the best skill and gear for it, its meant more to illustrate a functional Tainted Pact build mechanic.
