Henrik Swanström's Notes
This is a pretty high budget version of my cold conversion summoner build and how it performs in Simulacrums. I decided to play around with other ascendencies and the new Eldritch Jewels actually make running an Elementalist summoner possible.
Unnatural Strength Jewels (+2 minion levels) are now available for non-necromancer which actually makes Elemental Conversion minions stronger using the Elementalist. The downside of running Elementalist is that you lose 30% elemental resist for non Golem minions like Spectres and Zombies and you can't build block without Mistress of Sacrifice. Losing 30% resist from Commander in Darkness is very annoying and it forced me to run Elemental Army on my Zombies and Spectre link which means we're losing ~20% dmg on them since we can't run Awakened Melee phys on them any longer. But it's necessary because it's so hard to cap resistances on minions.
Other than that you get more damage and way more survivability. Elemental Bulwark provides a ~2.5k shield against Elemental Dmg which is massive. You also get +2 Golems and 250% increased Golem buff effect. 250% buff effect is huge on the Carrion Golems phys dmg buff which is why you gain so much more damage as an Elementalist. The Golem nodes turbo charges the dps of other minions by huge margins. Ontop of that, we also gain 25% extra elemental penetration on Elemental Equilibirum turning it to a -50% cold pen effect.
I also decided to include a Stone Golem in the build. Even running x5 Carrions, the dps is higher than running a Necro. But a Stone Golem with a ton of buff effect puts me at 1300 hp/second for regen which is huge. That's why I don't need a life flask any longer and can run Bottled Faith for more dps and regen for myself and my minions.
This is my current PoB: https://pastebin.com/E5ttz6SF
The build uses two big ticket items currently. A 40 ex shield and a Mageblood. It's definitely possible to run this build without a Mageblood and with Victario's Charity. I'll be working on a lower budget approach in the future. Other than that there's I use a minion helm and wand which are around ~15 ex each which I consider medium ticket items. Everything else is cheap costing under 1 exalted.
However, it's mandatory to run the forbidden flesh and flame jewels for Unnatural Strength which cost ~13 ex combined. Without those jewels, Necromancer is superior. It's those Jewels that enable us to go Elementalist.
