LightV100's Notes

3.23 Artillery Ballista / Lightning Arrow Deadeye Pros - Fast Clearspeed - Relatively tanky compared to most bow builds - Easy to get off the ground gear wise - High potential for endgame you can always upgrade your gear - Has a mini army of Ballistas that bring pain Cons - Even though its tankier than most bow builds you still need to know what to dodge - DoTs can kill you easily if you don't know what to look out for ( Didn't really happen to me though) - Uber Bosses require a bit of practice to do deathless Anoints In the early game we can anoint Ironwood - Clear - Amber - Teal This will help keep the Totems alive and they pretty much will only die to giga essences or uber bosses. Later on you can either anoint Divine Judgement - Sepia - Teal - Black or Throat Seeker - Amber - Violet - Opalescent Why do you show the Barrage dps in POB and why do you swap Lightning Arrow for Barrage instead of using the Barrage Support gem? The dps shown is not there to mislead anyone but rather to show how much single target dps you can get which is more important to show than the damage while clearing as most builds have no trouble clearing anyways. Barrage does more damage than a Barrage Support swap because it doesn't suffer from the attack time penalty and comes with extra projectiles. It also feels less clunky and more responsive as a result of that. I didn't include Vaal Haste or the Focused Skill in the dps because they're not up 100% of the time unlike the other things that I checked in the configurations. Although you can make an argument that the Focus Skill doesn't need a resource during a boss fight and thus has reliable uptime. Why does it say that you have 24x Artillery Ballistas even though you can only place 6? POB only calculates the damage of a single arrow fired by Artillery Ballista but the explosions can actually overlap! In the testing done by the youtuber Fyregrass he found out that the payload of Artillery Ballista hits 3.5 times on average. I've tested this myself too and can confirm that its true. Because I didn't include Vaal Haste and Focus in the damage calculation I thought it was fair to round the number up to 4. I also included an alternate setup which uses Siege Ballista Siege Ballista actually shows way higher dps than Artillery Ballista and it probably does up to a certain point. If a monster has a big hitbox then Artillery Ballista probably wins out due to it getting more overlaps. Siege Ballista needs to use Barrage Support though and thus becomes a bit awkward to use especially if a monster is moving a lot as quite a few of its projectiles will miss then. Artillery Ballista doesn't have this penalty and due to its firering mechanics its much easier to use. One key note is that due to the many many projectiles that are being fired by Siege Ballista + the splitting projectiles from Snipers Mark it will result in a massive amount of projectiles which lag the game. Its hard to say which one is truly better but both a great. Feel free to experiment with this. Why do some of your Videos have different Skills / Auras from what you have in this POB? In Uber Boss Fights its wise to swap any auras that don't benefit you with ones that fit that specific fight. I also have Grace and Haste on at the same time for the sake of this POB but while Mapping you will just have Grace + Arctic Armour and vs. Bosses you'll turn off Grace for Haste. Uber Shaper Make space for Steel Skin to be ready to use it on reaction during the Ball Phase Make space for Purity of Ice to increase your Maximum Cold Resistance to help survive this fight. Take Sapphire Flasks to decrease Cold Damage taken. Uber Eater Make space for Steel Skin to help mitigate his tentacle attacks Make space for Purity of Lightning to increase your Maximum Lightning Resistance to help survive the Laser / Ball Phase If you don't have enough Intelligence allocated spec into the big nodes to be able to use Purity of Lightning Make space for Vitality to gain life regen to counter the Laser during the Ball Phase Also spec out of Vaal Pact for this fight because it disabled your regeneration. Take Topaz Flasks to decrease Lightning Damage taken. This part is taken from from Havoc616 and modified to fit this build. I would have written my "own" but to be honest there's no point if this exsists, since the progression through the campaign is pretty much always the same or very close no matter which Skill you actually play. Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/havoc616 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@havoc616vods We are leveling with Rain of Arrows but swap to Lightning Arrow as soon as we get the +2 Projectiles AND atleast +1 Pierce from the Skill Tree ! Leveling We want to pick up any Magic and Rare items along the way because you can vendor them for Transmutation Shards. This will help you greatly with affording Gems and Items from the Vendors ! After Act 1 you want to skip Magic items and only pick up Rares to identify them, anything you can't use just vendor for Alteration Shards which will be useful for purchases in Act 2 A1 Level 2: After Hillock Galvanic Arrow - Momentum Level 4: After Hailrake Galvanic Arrow - Mirage Archer Shrapnel Ballista - Added Cold Sniper's Mark Dash Level 8: After Lower Prison & Completeing Dweller Galvanic Arrow - Mirage Archer - Momentum or Added Cold (Optional if 3G) Burning Arrow - Manaforged Arrows Support Sniper's Mark Frostblink - Make sure you have Primal Spirit allocated to meet the Intelligence requirements If can't use Frostblink due to the requirements then just keep using Dash for the time being Warbanner - Gather stacks as you progress through the zones and place down your Ballistas and then activate Warbanner for a big burst ! ( Don't forget to pick it back up ) Level 10: After Brutus Add Blink Arrow to the above setup Level 12: After Reaching Cavern of Wrath and Completing Fairgraves Rain of Arrows - Mirage Archer - Momentum or Added Cold Shrapnel Ballista or Siege Ballista - Added Cold Sniper's Mark Blink Arrow Frostblink Warbanner If you have free links you can use any Mana Forged Arrows Setup for the time being A2 Level 16: After Fidelitas Add Herald of Ice Add Frenzy to a Manaforged Arrows setup Optional: Purchase Herald of Thunder (Requires a Lapis Amulet or Intelligence Item, make sure to have Primal Spirit allocated) Optional: Purchase Arctic Armour to swap with Herald of Ice in A5 or Onward Level 18: After Weaver Free: Trinity or EDWAS -- Purchase the Other One Optional: You can delay this step until you have a 4L (Usually in Act 3) Bandits: HELP ALIRA After The Way Forward - Travel back to Act 1: Purchase: Steelskin A3 Level 24: After Tolman From the Vendor Clarissa Add Haste Free: Grace from Maramoa (Level in offhand) Solaris 2: Rare Lapis Amulet Level 28: After Gravicius Free: Artillery Ballista Example Setup at this Point (Colours and Link Dependent) Rain of Arrows - Mirage Archer - Trinity - Elemental Damage with Attacks / Added Cold Artillery Ballista - Added Cold - Elemental Damage with Attacks - Faster Attacks Manaforged Arrows Support - Frenzy Sniper's Mark, Blink Arrow, Frostblink Haste and Arctic Armour Keep leveling Grace in offhand Optional: Complete Library Purchase Lifetap -- Add Blast Rain - Manaforged Arrows Setup Purchase Flamedash -- Swap with Frostblink Normal Lab: Gathering Winds A4 Level 38: After Malachai Purchase: Barrage level this in offhand if you can Free: Returning Projectiles level this in offhand Free: Tornado You can drop LMP after allocating +2 Arrows on Tree (Master Fletcher, Multishot) A5 Jade Flask A6 After Lily Roth if you did not complete the Library Earlier Purchase Flamedash -- Swap with Frostblink Major Pantheon: Brine King Minor Pantheon: Ryslatha A7 Cruel Lab: Farshot Diamond Flask A8 Run Grace in The High Gardens when Completing the Yugul Quest After act 8 when you reach level 60 you should have your points allocated to be ready to swap to Lightning Arrow Make sure to only swap when you have the +2 projectiles and +1-3 pierce from Master Fletcher, Multishot and Piercing Shots on the Skill Tree. It's possible to swap before but it doesn't feel as good in my opinion. Setup would be Lightning Arrow - Elemental Damage with Attacks - Returning Projectiles - Trinity A9 Free Spike-Point Arrow Quiver A10 Silver Flask Free Zodiac Leather or Blood Raiment Base Merc Lab: Endless Munitions After Act 10 you should follow the gem links and gear that are outside of the notes section. What Atlas did you use to get the gear you have? Just a mix of Essences + Rog (Expedition), Harvest and Jun (Betrayal) Since this was my first time playing SSF I wanted to ensure that I don't hit a progression wall because of gear. https://poeplanner.com/a/BIH We take Wellspring of Creation once we're strong enough to make up for the 50% more health modifier. But as soon as we can manage this we will pretty much never die during normal mapping anymore.
