Why selfcast?
You shouldn't. But if you do - you need to have high cast speed and stun immunity to feel good. This build has both. But selfcast is always going to have suboptimal strength in the current game. That being said this is the best feeling selfcast build I've done for a long time, and I try it every league.
Why Yellow map?
I'm ssf and still leveling/ gearing. 5 link and 1 of my wands is from act 1, and some of my gear I wonder why I'm even wearing it.
Yellow map is to simulate what a red map can be, with some better gear and some more character investment. That being said, I have cleared up to full watchstones, though red bosses are obviously not too speedy as of yet.
How's Scourge?
So it's one of the rippiest mapping mechanics we've had for a long time. But with Blasphemy temp chains it gives you a chance to not get blasted, + the density with bloom makes you hit back fucking hard.
Its great, super fast feels like 300apm constantly, in good way. I'm just pushing into t14s and able to get it fully cleared mostly, which for selfcast keeping up with the endgame boys is saying a lot!
Can it boss?
So its the season of content honesty (not over-hyping builds). So the answer is not really. Selfcast will always be struggling, and this is no exceptions. That being said its not bad. I've cleared up to awakener 8 and the conquerors are slow, but relatively straightforward. (Remember to aura/curse swap intelligently). Sirus would be a massive struggle. Maven invitations 10 ways and beyond are not possible at this stage unless you want to 6 portal it.
So tldr it will clear your atlas but its a clearspeed build, not a boss farmer
Damage?
Cast Arc (with tons of cast speed) inside OOS (orb of storms). This procs the OOS - which will shoot a beam to a couple of nearby targets (4@lvl 20). So 1 hits the boss, and 1 hits the Hydrosphere. We then have Chain (lightning mastery), which makes the beam that hits the hydropshere, chain into the boss (2x damage). If there are multiple adds, you can have 3 beams chaining into the boss, for 4x the damage. On top of that profane bloom will blow up the adds (making this a great Metamorph killer for example)
Defences?
Not much. Chaos Innoculation and Occultist Ascendency for Stun & Chaos immune. Blasphemy Chain chains. Get what you can from flasks. Mobility (perma onslaught) and playing fast.
Aura curse Swap?
Blasphemy Temp chains through the map. We also have Hextouch Conductivity and Ele Weakeness on Hydrosphere. But curse limit is 2. So for a boss you can choose to turn off Temp chains for more damage. Since that opens up mana, then also turn off Herald of Thunder, and turn on Zealotry.
Summary - blasphemy temp chains in map + Herald of Thunder. Boss - turn OFF herald of thunder/temp chains / turn ON Zealotry
