My latest build in the crucible league. Yet again, I am leveraging a crucible skill mod to buff up a particular skill. In this case, I am using the crucible mod for "Fireball and Rolling Magma have 100% more Area of Effect, Modifiers to number of Projectiles do not apply to Fireball and Rolling Magma." This mod can be found on staffs, or 1-handers and shields, as well as the crucible helmet. With just a weapon and shield, it is easy to get enough AOE so that every hit of rolling magma will land on a single target. As you can see, my rolling magma explosions pretty much cover the screen from the top to the bottom edges.
I decided to go with Assassin for a few reasons, but obviously this mod is a pretty generic powerhouse for rolling magma that could be slotted into any sort of rolling magma build. Rolling magma has bad base crit, which Assassin helps with, and there happened to be a Void Battery and Malachai's Loop both with the mod available for cheap when I was planning the build. So I decided to stack power charges and use badge of the brotherhood along with ralakesh's impatience for full charge generation with free frenzy charges. The power charge mastery for shock immunity is used to avoid the downside of Malachai's loop.
There are a few defense layers working together that led to a pretty solid character that is easy to do most content with. We have capped spell suppression with the Spellbreaker trickster node being granted by forbidden jewels. This synergizes well with Ghost Dance and >40k evasion, as when a spell hits us, we get the extra damage suppression from spellbreaker, and then our energy shield is refilled so that the next hit will also get the extra damage suppression. Beyond suppression and evasion, we also have Elusive from Assassin, which is pumped up by 10 power charges from badge of the brotherhood whenever we stop moving. There is also a large combined HP/ES pool with dual life/es on kill and dual leech.
Overall, this variant is a well rounded build that is fun and easy to play, and can be scaled to do some ubers. However, I would suggest dropping 50% or more of the cost to lose a bit of the power and just ignore ubers, because even at this level of investment, the damage is still very borderline for ubers.
