Much of the power for this character comes from your second ascendancy "Watch how I do it" so probably best to wait at least until you get that.

The datamined version of wolves have the companion tag; if they continue to keep this you could take companion nodes in the bottom right area to scale their damage early. This is a build concept; not all info is available so I can't say this will perform perfectly. Based on the info available though I do think it will be strong.
