Hi everyone, wanted to share my league starter build I'm playing in sc crucible alongside my friend group with some self imposed trade restrictions to make the game more engaging for us. I made the pob before league start and it went through multiple iterations to where it is now. I started off spell slinging sabo into bow coc and finally after farming enough esh to drop the amulet+blessing, was able to respec into my desired build.
The build mainly functions like CoC Nova without the requirement of cospri's which has the downside of being a unique weapon in the crucible league. I did run a life variant but the build as it is now, reserves both life and mana using prism guardian + shavronne's wrappings and stacking energy shield.
We run about 5 million dps at the moment with mostly SSF/crafted gear and if our triggerbots position themselves on both sides of the target, we can actually sometimes get double the hits from shock nova (ring+nova), shooting our dps up higher.
Some of our layers of defense. Spell suppression, evasion, ghost shroud, instant leech, guard skill, Sabo blind and fairly quick movement speed (mainly due to haste).
Our main 6 link uses cyclone - cast on crit - increased crits - shock nova - inspiration (for manacost) - and lastly prismatic burst support.
Now, you're probably thinking why prismatic burst. The answer is that its the simplest way to fulfill the requirements of explosive expert (ignite/chill with no additional button presses to our gameplay loop). It also scales decently well with the 52% cooldown recovery reduction we've already invested into and it doesn't split the triggers for coc as it's a seperate trigger off of the cyclone attacks. It triggers twice due to our triggerbots and it's also scaled by the other two supports, increased crits and inspiration.
In terms of how it triggers due to triggerbots, as far as I can see from my own gameplay, the two triggers aren't repeats, and instead rolls the chance for a new element each time. So you'll have instances where you hit lightning and fire or maybe lightning and cold. This of course hampers our prismatic burst damage a bit since lightning is our main scalar but the other hits will crit since we have nearly 100% and thus give us the benefits of explosives expert seamlessly.
Prismatic burst (while it doesn't do that much damage), is also very nice when our triggerbots are off hitting something else and enemies are swarming us. It does enough damage to clear white/magic mobs and is a good addition to our clear. I have prismatic burst set to 24 in pob to simulate the double procs since count doesn't seem to work for it.
Moving on, the build itself uses a lot of auras and to fit the big 3 50% auras into our prism guardian, you''ll need both the life reservation mastery alongside a 2% reservation efficiency implicit on corrupt jewels. I believe the reworked bubonic trail boots also has the same wording but at a much higher value if that's of interest to you.
Lastly, for optimal trigger rate for those who are interested. Our sources of CDR add up to 52% CDR.
-15% from Weapon Crucible Tree
-7% from Edritch implicit boots
-30% from Like Clockwork
This sets our Choir lightning bolt cooldown at 0.33, our prismatic burst at 0.36, and our CoCat 0.099. The most important trigger priority imo is Choir + CoC + Prismatic burst. So optimally we want our cyclone to hit just after 0.33 while maintaining maximum CoChits as possible (one every .1 basically). I believe our optimal attack rate in pob listed for cyclone should be about just under 9 attacks per second as such, I swap to an attack speed jewel for bossing which sets my attack speed to 8.97 (Usually it is 8.57). This means I attack every 0.1114 seconds and after every 3rd hit will be at 0.334 which is right on the line for our choir bolt. This does mean our prismatic burst is a bit late since we won't hit again until 0.445 which I think is a fine trade off since prismatic burst isn't our main source of damage.
In a trade scenario, I could see the build being much stronger. I'm a few percent off of ideal suppression (Pob has me at 97% with lucky). A discipline es on hit watcher's eye would be an insane defensive boost to our character. double corrupts on shavs and prism guardian and a few alt quality gems like divergent cyclone and anomalous shock nova gives the build a decent bit more dps and quality of life/defences. Our biggest problem is phys mitigation which can be solved by getting phys taken as ele (helmet+taste of hate are good sources of this).
That's all for now from me. Here's the link to the pob and a youtube video if you're interested in a quick map showcase.
