Rain of Arrows into Tornado Shot Deadeye - SSF Leveling Eater Exarch [PoE 3.22]
TLDR:
- Galvanic Arrow Level 1
- Rain of Arrows Level 12
- Tornado Shot Swap EARLY MAPS (after Master Fletcher, Multishot & Ricochet from Merc Lab)
- Felt weak early maps, until: Good Bow, Character Levels for Crit Nodes, Chain.
- Clear felt SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER with Ricochet.
- Single Target damage with Ricochet & Manaforged - Cast on Crit - Tornado was strong, even on a 4L!
- Conclusion: Try Again with Chain 2nd Lab and/or a higher emphasis on gearing during early Atlas stages.
Longer Description: This is a Proof of Concept run, testing the viability of early Tornado Shot on low gear levels.
Tornado Shot requires lots of Additional Arrows and Projectile Speed to feel good. Thus, we use Rain of Arrows from level 12 until allocating Master Fletcher, Multishot & Ricochet from Merc Lab.
Rain of Arrows is much faster than other bow skills during leveling but requires an intentional effort to kill more monsters in comparison to skills such as Lightning Arrow. You'll notice in this run, in many early and late campaign zones -- I would often find myself underleveled and undergeared.
A problem that persisted into early maps, that was compounded by an attempt to use a very strict filter on lower gear levels. Lack of currency to 4Link Gear (:D) and a weak bow most likely added an additional 40 minutes or more during the mapping section.
However, once decent bows were crafted, Crit nodes obtained and Chain from Uber lab acquired. The build felt incredibly strong. So strong that it's worth re-testing similar runs with Chain from 2nd Lab instead of Farshot.
During Story the tree routing was again very standard up to
- Precise Technique, Farsight, Onslaught & Point Blank.
Afterwards I selected
- Burning Brutality for the 12% IAS on the nodes & "100% increased Damage with Hits against Ignited Enemies" from the mastery.
- This Mastery really pushes the damage over the top while leveling. Weathered Hunter, that's right beside it, for 3 points Provides 18% All Resist & tons of accuracy to maintain Precise Technique; again making gearing during the campaign very easy.
But the cost is 9 skill points which does delay the Crit Swap. A contributing factor to my early mapping weakness. And it also forces some hard decisions. You'll notice I never even pathed to Forces of Nature or Revenge of the Hunted; I just didn't have the points to get everything.
If I was to do this run again:
- I would experiment with Ricochet from Cruel Lab
- More planning regarding the Crit Swap IF I want to keep Burning Brutality / Weathered Hunter
- Do more to get a Good Bow during early maps (4 Point in Essences early, Get the Bow, resume Wandering Path rush)
