My goal was a cheap league starter that was semi-creative and good all around. Something to carry me through T16 maps and end-game bosses while I save for int stacking.

I hit T16 maps about 30 hours after league start with a 50c budget, and have since dumped in another 3-4ex for glorious vanity, a 6L, and 10-30c rares. I mostly don't die in T16s now, except to those EoW projectile mobs.

Defenses: ~7k ehp, 17k armour, 3.7k/sec recovery, freeze prolif, ~3.2k bonus frost shield ehp Offense: ~1.5mil Arc, ~5mil Ice Spear

Ratings:

  • Cost: 8/10 (cheap to get to red maps but then you want glorious vanity)
  • Damage: 7/10 (ice spear is cheap damage)
  • Clear: 7/10 (arc falls short in dense maps but is great otherwise)
  • Mobility: 7/10 (not a super fast jogger but lightning warp is great right up until you run into grasping vines)
  • Bossing: 7/10 (dps is mediocre for bossing but high recovery and a decent ehp pool help a lot)

Further thoughts:

  • The freeze prolif glove implicit is so good, and works pretty well with inquisitor and arc split half between light and cold damage
  • Lightning warp is great except for when it's not at which point I immediately die (fuck you, grasping vines)
  • Arc is not great at high density/juiced maps. Orb of Storms would help, except that it's handicapped by its tiny AoE. I ended up dropping OOS to make room for petrified blood.
  • Ice Spear is easily defeated by mobs walking sideways....
  • 80 mana per cast sucks, this character is completely dependent on an enduring mana flask for sustain
