A little idea I've been playing around with, I this idea since the new Devour gem was announced. Basically you put it into your main Spark link on Necro with Corpse Pact, think of it as a Faster Casting Support x 0-5, kind of like a build-in Souleater. Spell Echo and Self Chill to scale that further. Ofc you won't get any of that power for bosses that spawn no mobs, but it should do very well in maps. Basically any enclosed areas like Crimson Temple should be very good with this. But I can also see it perform well in open maps like Cemetery.

But it comes with some caviats, for example going cold convert isn't that good, because if you freeze enemies and kill them, they shatter, so they leave no corpse to consume. That's also why Heat Shiver isn't as good because it relies on freeze (and gives you fire dmg which ignites). You could instead go for brittle for example, but in my mind I'd rather have direct crit chance. Because one, if you consume the corpses, there won't be any left to use proliferation with, and two, because this is for mapping and most enemies will die on the first hit anyways, so brittle is somewhat wasted. Also ignites are bad because if the enemies die from dot, you don't get to consume them. Though you could also do convert with Ele Focus, but then you don't get good shocks (or you have to rely on the Corpse Pact shock) and still can't use Heat Shiver. And if you go self chill you cannot go cold convert. So I've come to the conclusion that going pure lightning dmg might be best.

Another problem is curse application. If you have rare gloves it's very hard to get a curse implicit, and with self chill the rings are blocked. But maybe it's better to not use Spark gloves, because the Faster Casting falls off pretty hard, also you'd have to skip on Inspiration for the new gem, which hurts. But without the gloves it's difficult to scale flat crit. Sandstorm Visage isn't as good as you might think, because for Smite to work you need a sceptre, but max base crit sceptre is 6.5%, so max of like 9% flat crit, which is basically just +3% flat crit chance, so not very worth it.

Best source of proj speed is probably new Vengeant Cascade for 150%, which is a lot for Spark, which is another reason why the gloves aren't that great because Faster Proj Support' effectiveness falls off hard.

Thinking about it I might just drop the self chill, would also save me some points. You could also make it MF I guess. Also I was thinking about if anom KB double dips from Corpse Pact, but from what I've heard it sadly doesn't. And maybe I will look more into cold convert ele focus, it's easier to scale dmg that way.

All in all I'm still not sure if this is worth it. I mean sure it's giga cast speed, but all the implications of how it works and what synergises and what doesn't chip away on the damage. So I guess in the end Spark Inquis is still best.
