So, with the new life recoup notes on the tree, you can do some really interesting stuff. Something that could be cool for any staff caster is to combine them with Glancing Blows and the new staff mastery that grants %life on block. That way you don't only get life when you block, but a chunk of the damage that glanced you also gets recouped.
The next step is to combine this with Forbidden Rite. This skill deals a ton of damage, but also hits you. Damage from those hits can be recouped. The new recoup body armour can make it so that you actually heal instead of take damage. However, that item will probably Headhunter tier. I expect I'll never get it. So the next best thing..
..Is obviously Bloodbond. This item grants Blood Offering, a skill that sacrifices (does this get recouped?) a chunk of your health in order to grant an insane amount of recovery to your minions. As a Necromancer, we can make that also apply to us. If we don't 1-shot ourselves, we'll have infinite HP!
We don't even need to cast it ourselves. It can be fully automated by CwDT setups that include Desecrate as well as a bunch of other spells. You might think "how will we every sustain the mana cost of all these spells?!" Simple, we recoup it! A new mana mastery grants mana recoup. It's truly the answer to all of life's problems!
