The MOST TANKY Build I've EVER Played - Phantasmal Cremation Necro - 3.17 Path of Exile

Keep in mind there may be multiple videos per build, always look for the most recent video. Phantasmal Cremation + Phantasmal Unearth This is a build focused mainly on being TANKY. It abuses Ashes of the Stars and Alt qualities to obtain the vast majority of its damage. This build is meant to be a Simulacrum farmer, it has mediocre clear speed in maps and is decent at bossing. If you are interested in how the Phantasmal Cremation gem works please watch the explanation in the video. We scale our defenses and recovery through a few ways. Armour Energy Shield Block + Recovery on Block Maximum Resistances As for damage we are mainly focused on scaling Corpse Life, Cast Speed and Fire Damage. Of note the Corse Explosion that is MOST of our damage only has the FIRE and HIT tags, so spell damage and such do very little for it's damage. We must focus on scaling those few stats as well as making enemies TAKE more damage instead. ------------ RATINGS ------------ EXTREMELY GOOD -> Elemental Damage Taken, Chaos Damage Taken, Physical Damage Taken, Damage Taken Over Time, Survival. GOOD -> Movement Speed, Trade League, Softcore, Hardcore. MEH -> Bossing, Clearing, Playstyle. BAD -> Cost, Solo Self Found (Requires specific Uniques and Items to function), DIFFICULTY OF PLAY - LOW The only difficult part of this build is affording it. ----------------------- CONFIGURATION ----------------------- The current configuration is mostly irrelevant for damage as we scale the vast majority of our damage through the Phantasmal Alt Quality of Cremation. We will be popping roughly 24 corpses per second but the actual dps depends on how many of those are hitting our target. As for Corpse Life I am trusting Gryph here on the numbers, I do not know what the actual Corpse Life numbers are. -------------------------- ALT QUALITY GEMS -------------------------- There are a lot of alt quality gems used on this build due to them scaling very well with Ashes of the Stars. Phantasmal Cremation is the only ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED one. Phantasmal Unearth is also very powerful. --------------------------------------------- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS --------------------------------------------- Q: Bandit? A: Kill All. --- Q: Pantheon? A: Brine King and Gruthkul (of note if you are rich and want to get the Vile Bastion FF/FF you can go another Major Pantheon) --- Q: How do I level up this build? A: I personally leveled as Ignite Armageddon Brand with as close of a tree as I could manage. Look up a twink leveling guide as you need 30EX anyways to even consider this build. --- Q: How do I stop dying? A: You don't really die, make sure you're using Vaal Discipline and Molten Shell, don't stand in stuff that insta kills you. --- Q: How do I do more damage? A: Invest more money. The amount of damage this build does is rather static if you don't scale crit, scaling crit is 3x as expensive and not covered in this guide. --- Q: There are a lot of auras listed in the skills section, I feel like I will have no mana left, how do I cast my abilities? A: You can craft -mana cost of non channeling abilities and get a watcher's eye for clarity - mana cost. --- Q: What about Clusters? Do I HAVE to use them? A: They are powerful, you can afford them if you can afford the rest. --- Q: My question isn't in here, what do I do? A: Double check that you have looked through the video and this PoB. This is a knowledge based game and you have to put in the work to be successful. ------------------ LEVELING UP ------------------ Look for a Twink Leveling guide. You can go ignite Arma Brand and transition at maps. ------------------------------ GENERAL PLAYSTYLE ------------------------------ Hold Unearth and press Cremation occasionally to keep them going. You will need to target your Unearths where you want the damage to happen. -------------------------------------------------- HOW I OBTAINED MY GEAR -------------------------------------------------- Weapons / Offhands Buy a +1 Phys or +1 All Spells gem SCEPTRE (We need elemental or fire damage implicit, spell damage doesnt work) Craft Trigger Socketed Spells, any other stats are a bonus (go for strength or dexterity) Shield is Aegis Aurora, buy or find it. Helmet Buy ilvl 86 Hubris Circlet with +5 Unearth Corpse Level Enchant Use Perfect Fossils to quality to 30% Use Single Dense Fossils to land a solid ES roll with any resists you need Roll Mana Reservation / Any other good mod on implicits. Chest Chest is Incandescent Heart, buy or find it. (focus on %dmg gained mod and ES) Gloves - I suggest watching the video. Obtain ilvl 2 gloves of any base (make a new character and buy from vendor) Use bench to 4 Socket and then 4 Link Use 4 Fossil Combo (Dense + Faceted + Pristine + Scorched) You are looking for +1 Strength and +1 Dexterity with an open prefix, you will most likely land +1 +1 +1, this is fine. Craft Suffixes cannot be changed and use a Veiled Chaos Orb, you are looking for +2 AoE or +2 Projectiles. AFTER you used the veiled Chaos orb craft one of the conversion mods to block those from appearing and then unveil. If you don't get either, craft Suffixes Cannot be Changed and Veiled Chaos Orb again until you get one of the mods. Craft the Other mod you didnt land. - If you want more expensive gloves consider grabbing High tier ES gloves with a fractured + or % ES Roll and use Craft of Exile Fossil Calc to find the best set of fossils at the current time (there are a few options) Boots I bought High ES + Resist and MS boots, you can attempt to craft these but its easier to buy as these are somewhat common drops. Amulet Amulet is Ashes of the Stars, buy or find it. (focus on getting as high of quality as possible [mana reservation is important too]) Rings You need 2 Unset Rings and ONE of them needs to be +2 Socketed Gems for the Purity of Ice, I suggest buying the +2 Ring. Other ring can be crafted with Dex, Str, or ES Essences, I bought mine tho. Belt Crafted with Dexterity Essences, you can buy a belt that will probably be better. Flasks Alteration rolled until +charges on hit and then aug / annul until solid second mods. ------------------------ FINAL THOUGHTS ------------------------ Easily one of the TANKest build I've ever played, kind of insane how solid it is. Damage is lacking a little tho on bosses.
