I would clear with Soulrend until you have the Ascendancy Notable Profane Bloom then you switch to Bane.

Aura Gems Herald of Thunder (Act 2, remove after Malevolence) Malevolence (Act 3) After you get Eldritch Battery and have enough ES to sustain your mana cost also add either Grace or Zealotry. In maps you will need to use Grace.

You can do Jun Missions to get the Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier unveil (3.26 will add the recipe to maps and you do not have to do Jun Mission for it anymore). You can also do the +1 Chaos Spell Skill recipe by selling a Wand and 2 or more gems with the Chaos tag totaling 40% gem quality. The +1 wand should show in the vendor window if you got the right items. As a suffix you can then craft Chaos DoT multi.
