Caustic Arrow Tank God Build Guide for Path of Exile 3.20 League Starter Forbidden Sanctum

Note: Maldiction is being renamed, will contain the curse hexproof enemies. ============================================== How High ES Recharge Rate works ====================================================== Base Damage Mitigation: Essentially we are converting 25% of physical (Darkscorn) and Elemental Damage (Incandesent Heart) over to Chaos which we are immune to. Tri Curse: We are using the buffs to curses to tri curse with Blasphamey Temp Chains and Enfeeble to massively lower our incoming damage. Recover Mechanic: Then using Soul Strike and eventually a Crusader belt with Recharge rate (you can use bated breath before you craft this) to force our energy recharge rate through the roof. Number Expectations: Our Raw ES numbers will be lower than other CI builds especially starting out, however we are mitigating so much incoming damage it balances out fine. Pro/Con: You can stand in traps in labs with 0 issues. 1 Shots can still be an issue for the build, so eventually we want to upgrade to higher ES gear when we can find it. ================================================== Leveling as Hybrid ============================================================ We are essentially starting out with Caustic Arrow + Mirage Archer, we want to run vaal side area's and vaal caustic arrow gems early to get better boss damage. Once we have Vaal Caustic Arrow, we want to start working towards Vaal Discipline as this will essentially be our life flask when CI. Since this is a degen build, the playstyle is shoot once, then keep running about every 4 seconds. Any unique with high ES is useful as we are scaling nodes early, Ghostwrithe is fantastic, and will make you experience smoother if you happen to find/purchase one. We want curses, when they come online, for starting out we can put Temp Chains and Enfeeble on Spell Cascade until we can reserve them on mana. Once your mana reservation is sustainable we want to transition them to Blasphemy. ================================================= How to Craft a Dot Bow ============================================================ We can use a short bow off porcipine cards to get an easy 6 link. Spam with Shrieking Essence of Dread to get +2 socketed bow gem levels. We want a few more mods: +1 to Socketed Gem Level > Damage over Time Multiplier > Damage over Time > Chaos Damage > Attack speed If we have 1 open suffix and 1-2 open prefix and 2 mods above + the socketed bow gem levels we are ready to force another +1. To do this use Cannot Have Attack Rolls bench craft and Exalted slam the item which will grant + 1 Socketed Gem Level. After this we can bench craft damage over time/ chaos damage or attack speed. Note: This is only needed if you want more damage than Darkscorn, however you will lose the 25% of physical damage converted to chaos. =============================================== Cluster Jewels =================================================================== Added large medium and small jewels while unused have the good rolls in case you would like to add clusters. ============================================== Forbidden Jewels ================================================================== Profane Bloom will be the best for clear speed. Look at prices as it may be worth it to spec out of one and pick up a cheaper jewel. For non-Occultist : Leige of the Primordial gives us more Elemental Barrier Bone Barrier Replaces Steelskin and the need for a CWDT setup so can free up socket space. Commander of darkness is really nice for the aura effect and res. Mindless Aggression if you want more damage/speed.
