I've played several CoC builds over the years. This one is hands down the best I've played so far. Also the most expensive by a considerable margin, but I don't regret the currency spent. Back in Sentinal league I had a CoC forb rite occultist and used it to farm up my first mageblood. I really enjoyed that character's tankiness, the single target was good not great, biggest complaint was the clear.

Since that time both Nimis and Original Sin have come out opening up more options to allow me to take what I loved about my prior CoC build and boost the parts I found to be lacking. I've spent most of the league making iterative changes to this build.

My witch began the league as an ignite elementalist, then was respec'd into nimis ice spear CoC, then original sin/nimis ice spear/blazing salvo CoC, and now mageblood/original sin/nimis chaos ice spear/blazing salvo CoC.

This is hands down one of the tankiest builds I've ever played. I'm not saying there aren't tankier builds out there for various things, but I've thrown some pretty nasty stuff at this thing and it come out fine.

While it may not be the most fun for some people, I love grinding maps and farming essences. I like being able to stand toe to toe with the most disgusting essence mobs in juiced maps and just dumpster them. I'm a simple man, it amuses me. This build lets me do that and more. It's also great at simulacrum.

It's CI so chaos immune, block and spell block capped (glancing blows) without tempest shield, phenomenal recovery due to aegis + good armour, immune to 25% of all ele damage (incandescent heart + CI), immune to ailments (purity of ailments), immune to bleed with just my boots, immune to crit damage (chest corrupt + shield corrupt + mastery), immune to stuns (vile bastion), with a 5300 ES pool. I also geared myself specifically to be able to cover every single attribute travel point with a tattoo.

All that and still over 40mill DPS.

Currently setup on blazing salvo, you can tick some different boxes under skills to see it with ice spear instead. I go back and forth between the two. I change 2 gems and 1 jewel to swap. Ice spear/GMP swaps for blazing salvo/void manip.
