Correction: As much as I love spreading misinformation, Ignite does NOT double dip with increased fire damage. Ignite is always just based on the flat base hit with added damage and local damage mods, but it does not take into account any modifications twice that also affect the ignite damage like "increased fire damage."

So if the hit normally deals 100 fire damage but is increased by 100% increased fire damage, the final hit will deal 200 damage. Yet the ignite is based on the hit before that increase is applied, so it’s based on the 100 dmg base hit and then gets increased by the 100% increased fire damage.

I just got confused by "increased physical damage" increasing my ignite damage. But that’s because it’s a mod that does not increase ignite damage on its own, while still being the same kind of global increase mod as "increased fire damage", but only affects ignite indirectly by scaling the base hit.
