There are some concessions, but not as many as you may think.

Big Concessions:

1. You must drop Kalandra's or Blastrain (on your second manaforged setup). I think dropping blast rain makes sense, but I happened to randomly hit an unset ring that is just better than my current helical ring so I run that. I lose 52 chaos res doing this though, so if you have a perfect helical ring just drop blastrain imo. I also have some other options in the items you can find on trade for reasonable prices I think. Overall, the most important thing here is you need a gem slot for battlemages cry.
2. You're susceptible to mods that effect duration of buffs, as you may run the risk of having battlemages cry drop. Right now, its got 100% uptime with a 1 second buffer. But on reduced duration maps it's going to drop. So beware.
3. That's kinda it. Widowhail on a good quiver will already give you more stats than any passive point on the tree so go with that.

Notes:

First and foremost, this is the tree I use when I wanna switch off the CwC penance brand and into manaforged arrows. I switch back and forth a lot as it costs like 100c of swapping points and sockets. I have a 6w ivory tower which helps immensely with recoloring. But there are probably little unoptimized details which would could add a lot. Also, I am missing my warcries generate rage charm because I could not find it in my stash lol. But I replace that regen life charm with whatever you want.

Second, this build has 18.2k ES and 16.5k mana. Whether you think that's good or bad is irrelevant. My penance brand manastacker has 18k ES and 14.4k mana and is doing a ton of dmg rn. This build is probably tankier and has full elemental ailment immunity cuz running 3 clusters gave me a free gem slot. Still susceptible to bleeding, but its got 18k ES so its fine.

Third, my quiver is not mirror tier and it really should be. The POB has the top delver's quiver. Run that if you can mirror it. https://poe.ninja/builds/affliction/character/zugulo/amogus_manastacker?i=6&search=type%3Ddepthsolo Its like 50% more dps and ES.

I haven't played it in a couple weeks, so it may have some mana problems (can't remember if mana leech on ROA was enough to sustain my ramp). But tbh, this thing plays similar to penance. Just put your storm rain beams on the ground and hit Cloak. You also need to think about mana leech. Get as many sources of instant leech as you can without giving up too much. I would say you should even consider dropping necromatic aegis entirely just to hit an instant leech mastery

If you delve and are curious about phasing, just run a swap with phasing, increased duration, and efficacy. That should be nearly 100% phasing.

EDIT: As for DPS: The top delver does 700m or so if he spends his entire 19k mana pool. This build does 400m at a 16k mana pool and up near 600m dps once I add in some mirror items. I think that's because warcry buff effect is an effective more multiplier on indigon. Those nodes actually give like 6-13% dps per node.
