last night I had a big brain moment.
I love solar orb, that its free to cast, and that its basically like totems - that cant be damaged, that last over 10 seconds each.
Been playing a solar orb storm weaver that utilises:
-
infusion charge stacking (inhibitor support is busted atm)

ice nova + cold infusion to create HUGE chilling ground that lasts for 12 seconds
-
easy ignite from solar orb to use with cold snap for infusions ( almost instantly at 15 infusions after using on one pack)
-
access to the when chilled/shocked/ignited/ affected by ailment damage nodes
-
solar orb is mana cost free, being a staff skill
-
storm weaver plus idol of uldurn + orb nodes = 4 solar orbs (overabundance not worth- kinda like the swift brand arcanist brand support from poe1- you end up just spamming)
-
elemental storm procs fairly regularly, and can have 3 up at once
-
CI ( i hate bleeding & posion)

mana storm ( pretty much free for 76 % extra lightning dmg) as solar orb costs no mana, and if you cast solar orb whilst in the storm it snapshops
there were a few problems that Ive slowly chipped away at, one being that enemies could walk past the solar orb before it could pulse- i fixed this by
-
slowing enemies down using temp chains, and the extra slow magnitude nodes + hindered when cursed nodes

scaling aoe for great solar orb range but
-
use of infused ice nova for huge aoe slow
-
reverse knock back (big brain moment) causes the huge aoe of ice nova to pull enemies in
-
reverse knockback on solar orb pulls enemies in towards it ( and increased the change they can be drawn into the ignite range)
build is not 100% finished yet- only ok gear really- but feels really fun to play- looking to increase crit chance soon to increase ele storm consistancy. I'll attached POB but the damage is defs not calculated right. playing with the map mod that increases enemies ailment threshold feels like garbage on this build
