After torturing myself with possibly the most clunky earthshatter slam build last league, I've decided to return to the good ol' Cyclone CoC archetype. Mostly inspired by this build (https://pastebin.com/zHfuqRwh), and the relative juiciness of PF TR to league start post-patch, Pathfinder looks like an overall top-tier class in which to invest.
Obviously, this endgame min-maxed PoB will still be able to do all content with ~200m DPS, but the question is whether a mid-range build that transitions from TR at 20-30 ex investment will suffice for elder/shaper guardians and above.
The build addresses some of the new pitfalls of CoC, such as the trigger mana cost, with decent mana recovery. The new Eye of Winter also seems to be a good new insert into a Cospri. However, at 'low' investment, I doubt it'll have even a quarter of the 200k EHP in the final build (arcane surge/cloak scaling). Removal of ailment immunity also seems to make this melee-range evasion-reliant build seem far too squishy, and I have no desire to repeat that feeling of a 50ex aurastacker from Heist.
Is Pathfinder CoC still alive, or am I going to run myself into the despair of a scaling cap?
