I wanted to tank Uber Eater's explosion, the hardest hitting ability in the base game (pretty sure a juiced one with % increased damage does more damage than deep delve Aul), without any weapon swap or flask swap cheeses, so far I haven't seen any footage of anyone tanking it other than Vincent who did it in Standard and NNN who allocates Transcendence for the fight (he has no phys taken as elemental otherwise).

From poedb, this ability (GSTangleUltimateNuke):

• can't be evaded

• can't be suppressed (not a spell)

• can't be dodged

• can't be blocked

• occurs out of combat (no on-hit effects like sap/fortify)

Obviously to do this, you need Transcendence with a sizeable amount of armour for mitigation. One easy way to scale ludicrous amounts of armour whilst maintaining high max resists is to play an armour aurastacker. At the same time, I need to convert as much physical damage taken as elemental damage, and I have 2 options:

• Tasalio (Chieftain node)
• Taste of Hate

I'm too poor to play the Pathfinder variant, and I didn't get a +3 max cold relic either so I just decided to play a Marauder. I figured that Berserker is great for this as Defiance gives a lot of % increased armour and sort of helps with recovery, which these builds typically struggle with, due to the increased max leech recovery rate. At this point I had 2 choices:

• Ashes of the Stars + Kaom's Spirit and opt for rage + Berserk
• Leadership's Price + blitz charges

I chose the second option because I didn't want to give up my life regen, especially when I don't have overleech on this build, and Leadership's gives more max resists than Ashes does. Overall, I ended up with a pretty fast build (once blitz charges are active) that's virtually unkillable and has average damage. Threw in a bonus Uber Maven run as well where I tanked all brain bombs and memory games.
