Some weeks ago there was a showcase of a poison Impending Doom (ID) Pathfinder (PF) on this sub which I decided to expand upon. I tried to revisit the old versions of the build with Loreweave in order to make it tankier while still reaching dot cap. The result is a build that trivializes most endgame content. You can basically facetank everything in ubers (notable exceptions are things that disable your recovery) and T17s (as long as you don't roll bricked mods). Overall, this build is a great choice for people looking for a solid allrounder (just like old ID).

Keep in mind though that unlike old ID, it requires high investment from the start. You could technically try to play it without a shako but I honestly wouldn't recommend. The ring with the delve mod is also super rare. Apart from those two pieces, the rest is more manageable and can be upgraded over time. Even this version is not completely min-maxed.

The playstyle is the exact same as old ID, you press temp chains and things die. Other than that you press life flask every so often, refresh divine blessing and use withering step on bosses.

Going a bit into some important details of the build:

  • As the guy who posted 2 weeks ago mentioned, you need an AOE of 4.8m or higher on ALL your curses to overlap ID triggers. The only reasonable way to achieve this on PF is to use two rings (or one + kalandra's touch) with the delve mod "#% increased Area of Effect of Hex Skills". Besides that you also need some additional investment such as Skittering Runes, weapon enchant, etc. As long as your curses have an AOE of at least 4.8m (you can check this on pob's calcs tab) you are fine.

  • The old balance of cast speed and cooldown recovery still needs to be respected. You can refer back to the old sheet made by Silenth.

  • Crafting the weapon is harder than before due to the removal of veiled chaos orb. You buy a rune dagger with fractured chaos dot multi (or fracture it yourself now that fracturing orbs are so cheap), use cast speed essences until you hit T1 damage with poison. Craft suffixes cannot be changed (or use the beast that does the same) and yolo veiled orb. Took me 3 tries to hit chaos damage but I am not sure of the average number of attempts. You can just play with a 4 mod weapon though, it's not that huge of a difference (around 10-15%).

-The build makes use of the classic Loreweave + Eternal Damnation + Transcence combo for high elemental mitigation. You then convert as much phys damage taken to elemental as possible through Taste of hate (27%), Dawnbreaker (currently 28% but up to 36% with perfect corruption), watcher's eye (currently 24%, can theoretically go to 36% with a perfect WE but good luck with that). Contrary to what you may think, the remaining 21% of damage that is not converted is actually not that big of a deal. In the video you see me easily tank uber shaper slam, so there is that.

  • You may find strange the choice of Replica Sorrow of the Divine as this is not a Mahuxotl's build. Well, I find that in a world with no mana craft on flasks, having a flask that can solve all your mana problems while also providing good damage is an exceptional thing on its own. This makes it so you can drop discipline entirely and not have to invest anything else in energy shield. Also, in practical terms this is miles better than anything else as you are recovering 4000+ energy shield per second so you will never reach a point where your ES is depleting, even when mobs cannot be leeched from or there is some mod draining your shield.

  • To make up for dropping the granite flask I added an armour perandus jewel. To my surprise, with just 16 points in radius this jewel adds more armour to the build than a 80% inc effect granite flask. I honestly think this variant of the jewel is quite insane for this setup.

  • I added supress to the build as it is basically mandatory in modern poe. Fortunately, most of the points that you need to invest for this purpose also count towards the perandus pact jewel.

  • Other possible modification to the build would be to introduce a chaos inoculation impossible espace now that you don't need to take eldritch battery. I tried to play a bit with it but didn't find a good enough solution yet as I would need one more jewel slot. But I think there is a lot of potential with this approach.

  • One glaring flaw of the build for this league is its inability to effectively clear barrels. You cannot curse them so you will never directly trigger ID on them. So you will need mobs nearby to trigger ID and AOE the barrels down. This is honestly super annoying to the point I would not recommend this build if your primary intention is to farm barrels.

Well, I think this is long enough already, if there is something else you want to ask please leave a comment.
