hey guys,
I've been playing this build since the beginning of the league and out of laziness just didn't wanna switch from the no-crit dual wand version, and managed to get it to feel pretty comfy in T17s on a relatively small investment. it's not min-maxed by any means, resists are quite overcapped so you can take the -resistance altars easily to max quant on your maps and take curses etc also.
here's the pobb -> https://pobb.in/UUc1o8yLYUDg
I have kraityn for extra move speed, but if you need some skill points, you can switch to eramir. also depending on your gear, just take an extra spell suppress node on the bottom right of the tree to cap it.
- why bother? maybe if you wanna run something off-meta, but I'm also pretty certain it's faster than svalinn builds, and should be cheaper than crit builds -- and maybe if you're still looking for pointers to improve yours, you could get some inspiration from mine.
- why not lucky spell suppress? because capping it at hard 100% making it a lot more comfy in T17s in my experience since you don't risk taking a lot more damage from an occasional spell, especially important to survive huge phys max hits
- a lot of gear is unironically pretty budget, the rings I've got very early in the league and haven't felt like swapping much since it works really well for me in T17s. if you upgraded the rings to something more reasonable I'm sure you could squeeze quite a bit extra out of it
- wands enchants, progenesis and watcher's is quite expensive, so you can substitute the former for spell damage enchant; progenesis with a different utility flask; watchers just pick one of the mods I have depending if you'd like dps or more survivability -- up to you
you can see how well the build runs a T17 map here -> https://youtu.be/U4pYj5ezq_U
I think it's pretty impressive how well this can run T17 with some obvious weak gear like the rings I've got, and could be a good build for a beginner to follow if they want to get into T17s, just substitute the expensive bits for cheaper alternatives (read point 4) and you're good to go
and most archmage builds are either crit, svalinn or have mb so I thought it might be interesting to share :) if you are running a similar build and have any questions or issues, happy to help you out! cheers
