Storm Brand is a fantastic skill, and one I thought would be perfect for the Sanctum. We go assassin for speed and damage, and even more speed and damage with our gear setup. This build can be modified for any style of play. Want more clear? Go inpulsa. Want to be tankier? Drop a damage aura for a defensive aura, or swap to a +1 Power Charge shield. I played this build several ways and enjoyed all of them. The current iteration of the build is very offensive, but I discuss our fairly effective defensive layers that we do have in depth in the video (please do not just look at the EHP number... EHP is bait)
Now, the real reason for this skill is the Sanctum. Whats the best way to complete the Sanctum? Don't get hit. How do we not get hit? Freeze. We achieve near full cold conversion with two Call of the Brotherhood rings. Our hit damage is enough to freeze just about anything in the game that can be frozen.
The beauty of storm brand in this setup is our massive attachment range. While running through the sanctum, we drop storm brands ahead of us and they reach off screen and freeze our enemies. Guards dont even get the chance to charge up an attack. The invisible dogs and gargoyles that spawn? Insta frozen by your SBs on the ground. Trying to do a no-hit run? Storm Brand can be thrown around a corner to deal damage for you while you stay in cover. Something I forgot to mention in the video: I dont run swiftbrand because the less duration feels bad in Sanctum guard rooms. We dont need the damage and it requires more casting and has worse damage uptime.
I had a blast with this build, and even though I've moved on to a new build (because I am an addict and cant help myself), I find myself coming back to play it! If you have questions on how to customize this build for a different playstyle, drop a comment or stop by my twitch and I'd be happy to help. Cheers!
