After nearly spending the entire league theorycrafting, adjusting my tree, and crafting GG (or close to GG) items, I've finally 'finished' my Hollow Palm Impale Cyclone Slayer (2,552 DEX, 1,546 STR)!

TL;DR: Pastebin is here. I hit 44M DPS with 5.1k overleech per second on 7.9k health. 2,552 DEX and 1,546 STR total. Budget is certainly variable, but I dumped as much currency into this build as I could afford (est ~400-500ex).

Hey r/PathOfExileBuilds, just wanted to share the completion of my min/max Hollow Palm - a build that can do it all. I originally started the league with a 1H Cyclone Slayer, but I wanted to try a new mechanic, and Hollow Palm was a relatively easy transition. I also wanted a tanky character since I was tired of dying a bunch to the Delirium mechanic. I had already played a STR stacking necro in Blight league and really enjoyed squeezing as many attributes as possible out of a character. How did I approach this for DEX this time?

  • Abused Split Personality jewels (11 of them) with lengthy tree pathing and 4x Cluster Jewels. I tried my best to utilize life nodes as additional pathing as well as picking up some res and Vaal Pact along the way. Early iterations had less jewel sockets and more ele res from the tree.
  • Used 4x Deep Cuts Cluster Jewels & +2 Hits to Impale Watcher's Eye for as much Impale DPS as possible.
  • Used x3 Drive The Destruction Cluster nodes for a whopping 5.1k overleech per second. One of my earlier build iterations focused harder on leech with x4 DTD and 24% Life Recovery Rate on my belt, hitting >7k leech at one point. However, I decided the additional DPS and flat life were better choices.
  • The Red Nightmare giving some Endurance Charge generation and block chance.
  • Having fun crafting three pieces of gear along the way:
    • Dex Stacking Amulet to replace Astramentis. This one gave a HUGE DPS increase once I finally landed %dmg per 15 dex on it. Really difficult to get enough INT for Infused Channeling without Astramentis - happy I could finish this one.
    • Dex Stacking Chest + Explosions that also adds significant life totals + everything the build needs. I originally had a similar chest without explosions (% Dex + % Life) that I crafted with an Awakener's Orb. Early game I heavily relied on a Wildwrap, which actually gives more DPS than my chest at the cost of a significant amount of life + explosions mod.
    • GG Stygian Vise that I still can't believe I finished. I originally started with a well-rolled Cyclopean Coil and moved to a Stygian after my tree alterations demanded more ele res from my gear.
  • 2 rings that I ended up purchasing and failing to slam on solid prefixes. While the suffixes on both give a ton of ele res, curse on hit, and max dex, the only notable prefix is the Elreon mod giving -8 to Total Mana Cost of Skills (which works with Cyclone). I've found the Elreon ring to be essential to the build - otherwise you need a -mana cost chest or 3 prefix crafts on all your jewelry, which cuts into some stats you'd otherwise love to have.
  • Garukhan's Flight, which gives us a whopping 510 flat life from our massive Dex stat. These haven't changed throughout the process, other than the enchant.
  • Devoto's Devotion with a usable enchant. Otherwise, the build feels a bit sluggish without the additional movement speed.
  • The Dancing Duo as a secondary weapon - I thought this was some cool technology. As long as you kill 15 units without Hollow Palm, you then disable your weapon slots and get free Rampage and some support on the side (you can socket in Blind, Maim, etc and it works with the passive). Really cool!

Overall, I had a ton of fun making this build. It completely tears through all content and cuts through T16 100% Delirium/Simulacrum mobs like butter. The tanky variant allowed me to level from 95 to 99 with few hiccups in between.

Possible improvements:

  1. Double Pride Watcher's Eye - wayyyy too expensive
  2. Metacrafting better prefixes on my unset ring - % melee damage or % Area of Effect are really the only prefixes I'd want, and they have super low probabilities for not much payoff. Pass.
  3. Better prefixes on Elreon's Ring - Elreon's Rings are a complete nightmare to craft given that you want as much ele res as possible + dex + an immovable prefix you can only get from Div cards. Opted to buy the ring base.

If you have suggestions for the build, or have any questions about Hollow Palm in general, I'd be happy to discuss :)
