Prandom_returns's Notes
Hey, I've been trying to make a self-chill build, and finally got it to a stable state; well, at least enough to have fun in T16s. This is not for bossing, not for hardcore either (shit build).
Here's a rather rough video. DPS is lacking, as I'm not a good player, but I have fun making builds. This would be much better with Omniscience.
The concept revolves around Ben_'s new ring - Call of the Void. It says "All Damage Taken from Hits can Chill you", which means we can chill ourselves, as long as we hit ourselves. The type of damage doesn't matter.
How is it better than Icefang Orbit? I wouldn't necessarily say it's better, but we don't need to scale ailment effect as much, to reach a meaningful self-chill. If you take of Leadership's Price, you could chill and shatter enemies as well, and reduce their damage by 10-15%, which is huge. Another upside is that we don't actually need to hit anyone, just shoot a couple of time to self-chill. Which is nicer while looting, etc.
There are a lot of ways to self-hit, but I really wanted to make a bow character, so I used Asenath's Chant with Forbidden Rite. Can possibly be used with Kitava's Thirst
My first idea was to use The Eye of Innocence, but I was taking wayyyy too much damage to recover.
The horrible downside of Forbidden Rite, is that we're taking chaos damage. This is solvable by high chaos resistance, Petrified blood (spreads some the damage over 4s as well as allows as to recover it with LGoH, as well as easily proc Adrenaline), LGoH, a bit of Leech, and Champ's Fortification. Vitality Watcher's Eye would be god-mode (I don't have one yet and I'm not using one in the video).
1 inspired learning for incentive to kill rares.
