Nicro00's Notes
Greetings Exile!
Below is a detailed description of each setup, mechanics, interactions, etc.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build Mechanics
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The build revolves around using Ground Slam to proc 5 instant impale to enemies due to the keystone (Impaler) on the tree.
You will then detonate all those impale stacks using Call of Steel (From any of the three Steel Skills) bursting massive amounts of damage.
In my version, my Ground Slam deals about 15 Million Sirus DPS. This is composed of two parts, a 7.9M Pure physical hit and a 7.3M Impale hit.
Now take note of the Impale hit, the detonation will then explode 5x that making it around 35M DPS just from the explosion alone.
Combining those two sources of damage is why this build is bonkers and will probably be nerfed next league! Of course all these massive DPS comes
with a sort of "Preparation Period". For best results, follow the steps below.
Preparation Period:
Seismic Cry - Use whenever for mapping. For Bossing - Make sure to try and cancel your ground slam animation until you have 1 remaining exert buff left, this will guarantee the best damage.
Intimidating Cry - Use whenever for mapping. For Bossing - Use when the boss is available to attack. Don't pre-cast this if the boss is in transition phase. We need to use it exactly
whenever the boss is ready to be attacked for them to be intimidated
War Banner - For mapping you don't need to use and drop the banner everytime. For End game bosses however, you will need to drop the banner whenever they are about to finish a "transition phase"
This will give us Adrenaline which gives a More damage multiplier
Phase Run - For Mapping I bind this to my left mouse click so I have it on whenever I'm running around zooming. For End Game bosses, you would want to use this just before you use Ground Slam.
This means that this buff should be the LAST thing you click before you attack the boss. This also gives a more damage multiplier which is huge for hitting once.
Flasks - This is very much self explanatory. Use your damage flasks especially Lion's Roar just before hitting bosses.
Now the beauty and tragedy of this build is, with the Impaler keystone, you can only impale every 4 seconds after you impale the same enemy. That means if you don't kill the enemy in the first 1-2 combo,
you will need to run around for 4 seconds and repeat the "Preparation Period" before doing the combo again. I'm not saying you cannot deal damage within 4 seconds but it's more effecient to just kite
around and wait for that 4 seconds and pull another massive combo instead of just spamming ground slam which will most likely fuck your impale duration up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gears
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Helm - an iLvl. 85 Elder helm with your preferred enchantment would be nice. You can craft something like my helm just by spamming Pristine + Jagged Fossils.
We are looking for the mod "Nearby enemies take 9% increased physical damage" and a good Life roll. Also try to look for an open Suffix so you can craft a "25% chance to avoid elemental ailments"
Body Armour - You can use whatever you like, I'm using a Replica Farrul's fur for the endurance and frenzy charge generation.
Weapon - Look for the highest DPS two handed Axe. Karui chopper is the standard "best" in slot only because it gives the highest dps uncrafted. If you want to craft something like my axe, look for a synthesized
Karui Chopper with either a Flat phys or a "Physical modifiers have #% increased effect" implicit and just spam Jagged Fossils until you get a good Hybrid Phys Roll to multimod on. Take note: It's up to you
If you want to skip the attack speed mod since you don't really need it. It's just a quality of life because I am using alternate gems that has reduced attackspeed and so I needed a little attack speed
to not make it sluggish.
Boots - Look for a shaper boots with a 31-35% chance to avoid elemental ailments and then just the usual life, resists, movement speed rolls.
Gloves - Look for life and resists and also an open suffix to craft another 25% chance to avoid elemental Ailment mod
Rings - The usual life, elemental and chaos resists if possible, stats for attribute requirement. The only noticable thing with my ring is that I crafted aspect of the cat in an unset ring so I can use Less Duration gem that makes Frenzy and Endurance
charge generation quicker.
Amulet - Try and look for a good Life roll + reduced mana reservation for Pride. This is important if you want to fit all the aura's for buffing your damage.
Also annoint Crystal Skin to get another 15% chance to avoid elemental ailments to complete the 100% from your gears. Also gives +1 max res which is nice
Belt - Stygian vise is by far the best in slot for the build like most builds because you can fit in an abyss jewel to tweak some more life, damage, stats, or resists. To craft the belt I'm using, get an iLvl 84 or higher stygian belt, scour it and put some
Fertile catalyst to boost the chance of getting life rolls then spam Defeaning essence of Envy to guarantee a 31-35% chaos resistance and hope for a T1 life roll with a good resist. If you are feeling lucky, you can also look for an open prefix,
for a chance to Slam a Hunter's exalted orb to get a %life mod. Since you have the fertile catalysts already, you will have a fairly good chance of getting the % life mod.

Gems
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Link Ground Slam:
Vaal Ground Slam - Main Skill - In my video I'm not using the Vaal version as I literally forgot to get one :D
Close Combat - you can swap this with Melee phys and pick the one you prefer.
Fist of War - try and get the Anomalous Version as it gives more damage in exchange of reducing your attack speed.
Pulverise - try and get the Divergent Version, again it gives a more area damage multiplier in exchange of reducing your attack speed.
Impale Support - for obvious reasons
Brutality - Impale and brutality is a duo setup on any pure phys builds. If you rich go get the awakened version :D
6 Link - Utility Setup:
Phase Run - Huge more damage multiplier if used correctly + bonus speedy boi zoom zoom when mapping
Seismic Cry - More damage multiplier and increased AoE - I'm using the anomalous version because I don't want to use Urgent Orders Support
Intimidating Cry - Double damage! - I'm using the anomalous version because I don't want to use Urgent Orders Support
Second Wind - Mainly for cool down recovery
Dash - movement skill for jumping thru ledges. If you are wondering why people aren't using leap slam, it's because you're gonna waste a suffix or a skill point to make it NOT exert. Also, you will fuck up your impale duration on enemies hit sometimes.
Enhance - You can skip this tbh. But it helps a lot when linked with all these utility skills.
4 Link - Main Auras:
Pride - Best Aura for Phys builds. The only downside is you have to wait 4 seconds for it to have the full effect. Luckily that 4 second wait synergizes well with this build. This is also the reason why you see me sometimes waiting more than usual before hitting.
Skitterbots - Shock for damage, Chill helps defensively.
Blood And Sand - You are most likely in blood stance every time and so this gives more area damage.
Enlighten - a Lvl. 4 will be best to fit all our auras.
2 Link - Flesh and Stone:
Flesh and Stone - for Blood stance to trigger maim on nearby enemies and make them take more phys damage
Maim - increase the effect of flesh and stone's maim debuff.
2 Socket - War Banner, Steel Skill
War Banner - We don't need the accuracy since we are using Resolute Technique but this is a good aura skill as well as a utility for increased phys damage and proccing Adrenaline.
Splitting Steel - Use any Steel skill, we only need this for the Call of steel Skill the comes with it for detonating impales.
4 Link - Cast when damage taken
Cast When Damage Taken - I'm using a lvl 20 just because I have a reliable source of endurance charges and so I can have the full effect of Immortal Call.
Immortal Call - Read above :D
Temporal Chains - Since we are not using any offensive Hex or Marks, a defensive hex is good here. You can also use Enfeeble depending on your Int available.
Increased Duration - to Increase Duration :D :D :D
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flasks
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Divine Life Flask of Staunching - Panic Button when you lose a big chunk of life. Also bleed immunity
Jade Flask - The Evasion Rating helps defensively as it will be converted to armor using Iron Reflexes
Basalt Flask - Phys reduction
Sulphur / Quicksilver Flask - Quicksilver for general mapping, Sulhpur flask for hard bosses
Lion's Roar - Best flask for melee damage. The knockbock is not noticable since you 1 shot most things
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Skill Tree
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Skill tree is very straight forward. The good thing about this build is, you don't need much damage nodes for it to feel good so then you have more points to spend on life and defensives like Fortify effect.
You can easily go to a more defensive route and cut the cluster jewel and also the timeless jewel I put in.
You can also go for a more offensive route and cut some life nodes to expand your cluster tree to get something like an area damage medium cluster
Important Note: Get a lord of steel jewel that has an #% increased reflected damage, up to you if you want the other mod to be area of effect or use speed.
Rapid Expansion Jewel - Atleast use 1 to make the clear of Ground Slam better.
Thread of Hope - Im using two in my setup. You can drop the one in the middle if you don't want to get Iron Reflexes. I'm only using it because I have a decent amount of evasion and would like to convert that into armor
