==================================================================================================================== GENERAL TIPS ==================================================================================================================== This guide is part of Zizaran's build guides for 3.15. This patch has a LOT of nerfs and changes to every build, but this build/build concept should be solid to start in 3.15. Bandits: Kill All You get FREE respec points as you progress through the campaign. Use these to respec your starting Projectile Damage nodes (see 92 Point Trees) The items in this guide are are a GUIDELINE, listed with the main core stats you're looking for. More/higher stats (resists, attributes, etc) are always better! They are mostly kept reasonable and obtainable through self-crafting methods post-Harvest nerfs On trade leagues you can search for "Empty Suffixes" or "Empty Prefixes" with a value of 1 for items with open crafting slots Upgrade your Pantheons Keep an eye out on your Strength/Intelligence requirements, especially when adjusting your tree/replacing gear We are scaling the Damage Over Time portion of Toxic Rain. We do not utilize stats like chaos leech or Adds X to X Chaos Damage ==================================================================================================================== 3.15 Changes ==================================================================================================================== Toxic Rain received nerfs in 3.15, like all other builds. Sustaining mana will be more difficult (will most likely need to run mana flask), and Lifetap cost multiplier is probably too high to comfortably use. Raider has gone from 100% Ailment Immune to 50% and lost some onslaught effect Swift Affliction is no longer a good support gem for Toxic Rain Raider is still one of the best ascendancies in the game, despite these changes ==================================================================================================================== GEM LINKS ==================================================================================================================== I suggest using Caustic Arrow for clear and Toxic Rain for single target until your Toxic Rain has enough damage/AOE to clear alone. 6L: Toxic Rain - Vicious Projectiles - Void Manipulation - Mirage Archer - Swift Affliction - Efficacy - Empower 3+ /Damage on Full Life/Increased Duration 6L: Caustic Arrow - Arrow Nova - Vicious Projectiles - Void Manipulation - Swift Afflication - Damage on Full Life/Efficacy/Empower 3+, not Concentrated Effect as it decreases your clear 4L: Malevolence - Dread Banner - Clarity - Vitality (Might not be able to comfortably fit Vitality in 3.15 due to needing higher level Clarity) 2L/1L/1L: Cast When Damage Taken - Steelskin | Mobility skill of your choice (Flame Dash, Dash, Blink Arrow) | Despair 4L: Spell Totem - Multiple Totems - Wither - Faster Casting If you don't have Empower 3+, you can use Damage on Full Life (Situationally up) or Increased Duration, as Swift Affliction was heavily nerfed in 3.15 If Swift Affliction makes your Caustic Arrow duration feel too low, you can swap it with Efficacy ==================================================================================================================== SKILL GEM LOCATIONS ==================================================================================================================== ---------- 1 - 12 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Caustic Arrow - Act 1 - Nessa - Enemy at the Gates Mirage Archer - Act 1 - Nessa - Mercy Mission Smoke Mine - Act 1 - Nessa - The Caged Brute Dash - Act 1 - Nessa - Breaking Some Eggs Blink Arrow - Act 1 - Nessa - The Caged Brute Puncture - Act 1 - Nessa - Breaking Some Eggs Toxic Rain - Act 1 - Nessa - The Siren's Cadence (replaces Puncture) Void Manipulation - Act 1 - Nessa - The Caged Brute ---------- 12 - 24 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Withering Step - Act 1 - Nessa - The Caged Brute Onslaught - Act 1 - Nessa - Mercy Mission Vicious Projectiles - Act 2 - Yeena - Sharp and Cruel Summon Skitterbots - Act 2 - Yeena - The Root of the Problem Flesh and Stone - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Blood Rage - Act 2 - Yeena - Intruders in Black ---------- 24 - 36 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Despair - Act 3 - Clarissa - Lost in Love Malevolence - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) ---------- 36+ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arrow Nova - Act 1 - Nessa - The Caged Brute Spell Totem - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Wither - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) ---------- Endgame ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Swift Affliction - Act 3 - Clarissa/Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Empower - Can only be acquired through drops or div cards, trade for it if you're not on SSF Efficacy - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Concentrated Effect - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Damage on Full Life - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Faster Casting - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Multiple Totems - Act 4 - Petarus & Vanja - The Eternal Nightmare Dread Banner - Act 3 - Clarissa - Lost in Love Vitality - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Clarity - Act 3 - Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Cast When Damage Taken - Act 4 - Petarus & Vanja - The Eternal Nightmare Steelskin - Act 1 - Nessa - Breaking Some Eggs Second Wind - Act 3 - Clarissa/Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) Flame Dash - Act 3 - Clarissa/Siosa - A Fixture of Fate (aka the Library quest) ==================================================================================================================== AURAS ==================================================================================================================== Malevolence Dread Banner Clarity (leveled to where it is comfortable for you), might need to level to 20 in 3.15 Vitality if you have enough open mana (Unlikely) In 3.15, you might need to drop Vitality/Vitality levels for more Clarity levels. Flesh and Stone had its mana reservation raised from 25% to 35% in 3.14. Dread Banner raises our evasion rating a lot and leaves us with mana to utilize other auras (Vitality/Clarity) Both of these auras give stats we desperately need ==================================================================================================================== FLASKS ==================================================================================================================== Seething Divine Life Flask of Staunching Enduring Mana Flask of x Quartz Flask of Warding Jade Flask of Reflexes Quicksilver Flask of x of X means any suffix of your choice. 3.15 Nerfs/changes flasks heavily. Jade Flask and Reflexes will still be a strong source of defense for Raider Dying Sun might still be decent for mapping, Sulphur Flask or another lower charge/longer duration flask might replace it for Bossing We will not have to worry about elemental ailments on our flasks due to being immune ==================================================================================================================== MANA PROBLEMS ==================================================================================================================== Early game: Acquire a Enduring Mana Flask as soon as possible. You can craft Warding/Staunching on it with Bestiary if it is "Enduring Eternal Mana Flask" with no suffix This mod can be annoying to hit with Alterations on league start, so settle with what you get early since you have elemental ailment immunity (only need warding/staunching) Clarity: Just level it high enough to have comfortable regen Replica Conqueror's Efficiency can also help with mana cost and is a very common Heist unique Mid/Late Game: Non-Channeling Skills have -# to Total Mana Cost (Elreon Unveil) prefix craft on Rings/Amulet can help mana costs more manageable This mod DOES scale with Fertile Catalysts. If you are crafting your own late game rings, you can catalyst them while they are still white/normal rarity (costs 4 catalysts only vs 20 once rare) Many support gems had their multiplier increased in 3.15, leading to much higher mana costs across all builds. Don't be afraid to keep your Enduring mana flask/go out of your way to invest more in mana sustain. ==================================================================================================================== Ailment Avoidance ==================================================================================================================== You want to reach 100% Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments. This makes you immune to Chill, Freeze, Ignite, Shock, Scorch (you lose resistances), Brittle (enemies have higher crit towards you), and Sap (you deal less damage). It can be annoying to achieve, but it is VERY worth it. In 3.15, Raider's ailment immunity was changed to 50% chance to avoid elemental ailments. You will want to use additional sources totalling 50% to reach 100% again. Thick Skin life wheel gives 20% in total, and Crystal Skin wheel gives 50% for all points. As you progress your character, you will want to try to get the remaining portion from other sources so you can unallocate Crystal Skin. Some other places to get ailment avoidance: Shaper Boots (Tier 1 grants 22-25%) Chance to Avoid Elemental Ailments craft on Boots (16-18%, Bazaar Map) Elegant Form Small Cluster Jewel (15%) Body Armour Avoid Elemental Ailments craft (Betrayal Unveil, value unkown at time of patch notes) ==================================================================================================================== KEEP DYING :( ==================================================================================================================== Make sure you have your Warding and Staunching flasks Make sure your resistances are capped Make sure you have a Jade Flask of Reflexes ==================================================================================================================== Anointment ==================================================================================================================== Early game - Freedom of Movement (Clear Sepia Violet) Aspect of the Eagle (Amber Verdant Verdant) Mid/Late game - Corruption (Crimson Black Black) ==================================================================================================================== Optional Passive Nodes ==================================================================================================================== No Witnesses - Elusive nodes grant a lot of speed and defense while mapping. It is not helpful for bossing. You can drop these after atlas progression if you are looking to min-max for bossing. Primal Spirit - Mana, Flask Charges Gained, Strength, and Intelligence are all useful stats for us. Can drop if you have no problem with these stats. Druidic Rite - Mana and nice flask QOL mods for mapping Arcane Chemistry - Mana, mana flask recovery, flask effect, more nice flask QOL mods for mapping Overcharged - 1 point with Thread of Hope, good for mapping (Frenzy Charge/Endurance Charge generation) ==================================================================================================================== Midgame Bows ==================================================================================================================== 2 solid options: -Quill Rain: Feels very smooth with Toxic Rain because of the high attack speed at the cost of more difficulty sustaining mana. It will also cause Caustic Arrow to deal less damage. Due to mana changes in 3.15, I highly suggest using the bow below instead of Quill Rain. -Crafted Rare Bow: This is preferred if you're playing Caustic Arrow with Toxic Rain and in 3.15 due to mana changes. You can farm/buy a 6L Short Bow through the "The Porcupine" divination card (better base) or "Imperial Legacy" divination card. A Shrieking Essence of Dread (or higher) will give you +2 levels of socketed bow gems, hope for an open suffix (Either recraft with another essence or annul)) Craft Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier (Betrayal Craft) You can unveil this modifier only from weapons dropped by It That Fled, which is not on the initial Sydicate board. You need to pick remove members from the syndicate until It That Fled appears. ==================================================================================================================== ADVANCED ==================================================================================================================== Crafting Life + Chaos Dot Multiplier Gear -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many Rare items for this build have Life + Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier. You can craft a majority of this gear with Harvest Chaos/Chaos more likely rerolls, Aberrant Fossils, and Aberrant + Pristine Fossil Combo -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crafting Late Game Bow -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Around the point you can comfortably afford Empower 4 and have around 8+ exalts, you can seriously consider a sizable weapon upgrade. If you do not think you'll reach this amount of currency, you can go for a bow with +2 level of socketed bow gems and +1 level of socketed gems. Options 1/2: The bow you are aiming for is T1 DoT Multi, +1 to Level of Socketed Gems, Can have 3 additional crafted mods, crafted +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems, and crafted % Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Ultimatum/0p4kV3gFg Option 3: Same as above, but with tier 1 Attack Speed (6 Mod Perfect Bow) https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Ultimatum/8BQmzlMsV You will need an uninfluenced 6L ilvl 82+ bow (86 for a very small chance at +2 arrows). Ideally, this would be a Thicket Bow You can either buy one (make sure it is ilvl 82+, no influence, not corrupted/mirrored/fractured) or link it yourself Remember that you can quality the base with Hillock in Transportation or with Perfect Fossils and craft quality on an item before 6 linking 1) Random suffix method (2 ex cheaper, can not gamble exalt/harvest augment speed/attack for a chance at a good 6th mod): Spam alterations until you hit T1 DoT Multi while also aug/regaling good mods like T1/T2 attack speed or additional arrow(s) in case you hit Dot Multi on the augment/regal You're looking to annul down to T1 DoT Multi + any other suffix (If you do manage to hit T1/T2 Dot Multi + attack speed or additional arrow(s) on a rare bow (jackpot, VERY UNLIKELY), you'll want to suffixes can't be changed + scour to get rid of the prefix and skip to crafting Cannot roll attack mods) If you regal on only DoT Multi and hit a prefix, you can use the beast craft "Add a Suffix, Remove a Random Prefix" (Farric Lynx Alpha) to remove the prefix without gambling the 50/50 with an orb of annulment Result you want is two suffixes (Dot Multi + one random suffix), no prefixes Craft Cannot Roll Attack Mods Exalt! You will always hit +1 level of socketed gems since all the suffixes are filled Remove craft, Craft Can have 3 additional crafted mods, crafted +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems, and crafted % Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier Craftofexile emulator - https://pastebin.com/Dn3PktWS https://pastebin.com/Z7VFKWtV 2) Open suffix method (2 ex more expensive, leaves an open suffix to gamble for a 6th mod, might not be worth depending on Harvest Augment/Fracture Prices) Spam alterations until you hit T1 DoT Multi while also aug/regaling good mods like T1/T2 attack speed or additional arrow(s) in case you hit Dot Multi on the augment/regal (If you do manage to hit T1/T2 Dot Multi + attack speed or additional arrow(s) on a rare bow (jackpot, VERY UNLIKELY), you'll want to suffixes can't be changed + scour to get rid of the prefix and skip to crafting Cannot roll attack mods) Orb of Annulment until only T1 Dot Multi (start over if you annul it off) Once you have that, craft Can have 3 crafted mods (blocks a suffix so you can't exalt a bad suffix) Craft Cannot Roll Attack Mods Exalt! You will always hit +1 level of socketed gems since all the suffixes are filled Remove crafted mods, Recraft Can have 3 additional crafted mods, crafted +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems, and crafted % Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier Augment speed for a decent chance to hit attack speed or augment attack for a lesser chance at attack speed with a small chance of additional arrow(s) Craftofexile emulator - https://pastebin.com/S8xemd41 3) Fracture method (Best bow you can make, cost depends on price of Harvest Fractures due to Harvest nerfs in 3.14): You can go for the same as above with a 6th T1 mod (attack speed is much easier than +2 arrows, as you can no longer imprint split +2 arrows) The simplest way to do this is use Deafening Essence of Zeal on ilvl 82+ Thicket Bow bases and Harvest fracture them (Note: Five Mod Fracture was substantially cheaper than 3 Mod Suffix in 3.13) Once you successfully fracture the attack speed (a fractured mod cannot be removed), the process is the same as above WITHOUT crafting Can have 3 crafted mods to block a suffix (Alt aug regal for T1 Dot Multi, annul off any extra mods, Craft Can have 3 additional crafted mods, crafted +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems, and crafted % Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier) Craftofexile emulator - https://pastebin.com/Wqrra0tq -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Crafting Amulet -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Harvest method for "Auging" +1 Chaos Gems was nerfed by the addition of a Chaos tag to Chaos Leech in 3.14. You are best off using Aberrant Fossils/Harvest Chaos More Likely reforges to craft your amulet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cluster Jewels -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Large Cluster setup is very strong/balanced endgame. 2 provides a lot of damage if you do not mind dropping a lot of life/have very good gear. Large Cluster Options: Chaos Large Cluster (8 Points) Good notables to look out for are at least two of Touch of Cruelty, Wicked Pall, and Unholy Grace. Ideally, you want 3 notables on your Large Cluster Jewel for good pathing Crafting your own: Acquire 8 passive chaos large cluster jewel (preferably ilvl 50-67, helps with crafting but not necessary), reroll with Harvest more likely chaos or abberant fossils until 3 notables Medium Cluster Options: Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier (4 or 5 points): Wicked Pall One of the following: Brush With Death - Nerfed 3.15 Exposure Therapy - Nerfed 3.15 Eternal Suffering Brewed for Potency - Might help with maintaining flasks in 3.15 Flow of Life Student of Decay (If going for Xibaqua Glorious Vanity setup) After the Wicked Pall nerfs in 3.14, it's more in line with the other notables on the cluster jewel. Crafting your own: Purchase 4 or 5 passive Chaos Damage Over Time Multiplier Cluster Jewel (at least ilvl 50). Harvest reforge chaos/more likely chaos or aberrant fossils until two desirable notables One of the following: Brewed for Potency - You want to ideally reach either 40/70/100% flask charges gained breakpoint (20% from ascendancy, 20% Primal Spirit, 20% Druidic Rite, 10% each Brewed from Potency) Peak Vigour Special Reserve Crafting your own: Acquire 4 or 5 passive Flask Effect Duration Cluster Jewel (at least ilvl 50). Alt/aug/regal for spiked concoction and another usable notable, or use either harvest caster (better used for your hunter ring) or attack rerolls Small Cluster Options: Normal 3/4 Stat jewels % increased maximum life - Surging Vitality % increased armour - Enduring Composure - Generate endurance charges when hit. Nice for endurance charges during bossfights, allowing you to utilize immortal call % chance to Dodge Attack Hits - Elegant Form - 30% chance to avoid elemental ailments can help you reach 100% on ascendancies that do not have built-in immunity (Pathfinder and Raider have it already) % to Chaos Resistance - Student of Decay or a 3 passive % increased effect jewel can help you reach chaos resistance cap (for Xibaqua Glorious Vanity setup) Tip: Remember that you can get resistances/attributes you need on Cluster Jewels. You can also swap/augment the resistances (suffixes) using Harvest -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very Defensive Setup - Glorious Vanity Xibaqua -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With Hardened Scars nerfed, this build definitely craves an additional layer of defense late game. Divine Flesh from the Glorious Vanity Xibaqua jewel can add a huge layer of mitigation to this build. You would place this jewel in the bottom left of Scion life wheel to convert Eternal Youth or bottom right to convert Supreme Ego. Make sure to respec Avatar of the Hunt if you are using Supreme Ego socket. There is a tree included to demonstrate this. However, this requires you to hit 80%+ chaos resistance through gear. YOU NEED TO BE CHAOS RESISTANCE CAPPED. Luckily, a lot of your gear crafted with Aberrant/Chaos rerolls will have Chaos Resistance. This was much easier with pre-nerf Harvest, but now requires a larger priority on chaos resistance gear, dual elemental/chaos resistance crafts, jewels, and Small Cluster Jewels. You can apply this to the two Cluster setup as well. Finding a Xibaqua Glorious Vanity with good notables/small passives for your build can also be a fun way to min max your build. For example, you could find a jewel that replaces Profane Chemistry with one of these notables: Cult of Chaos - +(13-19)% to Chaos Resistance +1% to maximum Chaos Resistance Exquisite Pain - (25-35)% increased Damage over Time (7-11)% increased Skill Effect Duration Small Cluster Jewel: % to Chaos Resistance - Student of Decay or a 3 passive 25/35% increased effect jewel (no notable) with chaos resistance can help you reach chaos resistance cap You can craft this buy buying or alt aug regaling (ilvl 84 for 35%) for % increased effect and two non-notable prefixes (if you aug chaos with a prefix you can add a notable and lose value on 3rd small node) Augment Chaos on open suffix will hit a tier of Chaos Resistance (may be very low) Born of Chaos can be used to further push your Maximum Chaos Resistance for more mitigation. You ideally want chaos resistance on gear/other jewels so you can use 2x Born of Chaos 2 pt small clusters. The trees are made with a 3 passive chaos resist cluster for demonstration.
