Hey everyone,
I just wanted to start a conversation around Impending Doom alleged nerfs in 3.23, as I have seen many posts (3, 4) stating that the awakened spell cascade fixes were bascially a death sentence for the build.
Let me preface this by saying that I have not played prior versions of this build, it is my first playing since early Sanctum and I based my version of the build on Steelmage's version.
This is the best all-rounder build I have ever played in PoE since I started in 3.0, and reading some of the comments in this sub regarding the Spell cascade/Impending doom interaction at the sart of league I feel like I'm going insane.
If I understand correctly some of those comments, Spell cascade should not be overlapping anymore, but after playing the build to 100, it feels like it still does, when I cast Temp chains in such a way that the curses overlap, there is a very noticeable difference both with the sound the hit does (There are twice as many hit sounds playing), and the actual dps.
So yeah, I see that almost no one else is playing the build at the moment, and I feel like I'm insane because the build still feels absolutely crazy to me, I have 11M dps without curse overlap on PoB and 332k eHP on Pinnacle config, there is literally no content so far that I can't do.
Anyway, here are the links:

Now I realize the double-corrupted Dawnbreaker I got is crazy, but even without it the build absolutely still works. I feel like the poison duration charm and Olesya's are doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
Anyway, just wanted to start a discussion around this topic as everything I've read on here contradicts my experience with the build. Was the pre 3.23 version that much powerful ? Did the spell cascade fix really brick the intercation ? And is the new charm modifier completely busted for any poison build ?
Cheers,
