Hey Guys, I updated my build to be more complete—hope you like the guide!
These spectres are criminally underrated and often overlooked in favor of cold crit builds. But personally, I’m a big fan of the poison variant—especially this one! When these came out before the Wraithlord helmet existed, I thought they were really cool but never got a chance to play them. Now that they’re back for 3.25, and with the new Wraithlord helmet, I figured this was the perfect time to give them a shot.
Build Overview The build is very tanky, mainly thanks to the Svalinn shield, which is pretty OP. I didn’t heavily invest in other defenses beyond life, resistances, and block, allowing more room for damage scaling. I’m running Haste, Malevolence, and Aspect of the Spider auras, stacking abyss jewels for chaos damage to minions, and using The Covenant body armor for even more chaos damage.
Key Mechanics The spectres have a unique interaction with Meat Shield support, making them switch to projectiles instead of melee. I found that replacing Minion Speed with Greater Multiple Projectiles and Greater Volley is the way to go. The more projectiles you can get, the more overlap you achieve with their mortars, resulting in better clear and damage output. With 10 projectiles per minion and up to 7 minions, you can potentially reach 70 overlapping projectiles, creating massive damage spikes. I’m still working on rolling the colors I need on my chest, so currency grind is ongoing!
Gearing and Investment I’ve already put about 30 divines into this build, and with a bit more investment, I genuinely think it can compete with Cold Crit Spectres. If you want a deep dive into the spectres themselves, I highly recommend checking out Doominated’s YouTube Channel. I always refer to his content when looking for new and interesting spectres.

Serpent Warrior Spectres - Overview Serpent Warriors have melee attacks with a 40% chance to poison, increased poison duration, and some chaos conversion. One attack inflicts maim. With Meat Shield support, they switch to firing mortars—physical-based with chaos conversion, capable of inflicting poison, bleed, and Withered on hit. Projectile support gems boost their damage significantly through overlap. Although they have lower health than other spectres, their mortar playstyle and 100% of max life as extra Energy Shield make them tankier than expected.
Things to Improve Further Better Convoking Wand with +1 to minion skills, +1 to all skill gems, attack speed, and minion damage Upgraded shield for more block Wraithlord with regen implicit (luxury upgrade) Better boots for more movement speed and defense Higher-tier Abyss jewels for better min-maxing Final Thoughts This build is a blast and offers a refreshing alternative to the usual spectre meta. If you enjoy the poison playstyle and want something tanky yet effective, this could be the build for you.
