Void241's Notes

WARNING: I DO NOT RECOMMEND SWAPPING TO IMPENDING DOOM BEFORE YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL THE GEAR IN THIS POB. IT IS BEST THAT YOU AQQUIRE THE VERY IMPORTANT PIECES FIRST (annoint, 6link, vixens, flasks) BEFORE SWITCHING TO IMPENDING DOOM. THESE PIECES ARE VERY IMPORTANT FOR THE BUILD TO FUNCTION AND THERE IS A FULL EXPLANATION AS TO WHY WRITTEN BELOW (highlighted RED) I WOULD RECOMMEND STARTING WITH ANOTHER BUILD AND SITTING IN HEIST AFTER REACHING MAPS TO GET THE GEAR FOR THIS BUILD. Toxic Rain Ballistas by Palsteron or some other pathfinder build would be great to level with. THIS IS A VOID241 CERTIFIED POB; I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHARACTER DEATHS IN SC/HC OR DIFFICULTIES REACHING LEVEL 100. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. IF YOU HAVE ISSUES TRIGGERING IMPENDING DOOM IN ONE CAST, CHECK THE FOLLOWING: Are your Gems Level 19/20? Levelling your gems increases your aoe and makes overlaps more consistent. Do you have skittering runes annointed? Same reason, AoE. Its also very relevant for mana cost, as will be highlighted in the AMULET section. Are you meeting the correct cast speed threshold? You need some baseline cast speed anyway, but also crosscheck with the spreadsheet that your cast speed lines up between the minimum and maximum cast speed for your relevant CDR amount. Is your Curse Limit fine? Should be a total of 3 maximum Curses. 1 baseline, +1 from vixen's and +1 from Whispers of Doom. Are your gems in the wrong order in your gloves? Punishment needs to be the first link. IF ALL OF THIS IS STILL NOT FIXING IT: Try to quality up your Spell Cascade/ Impending Doom gems. This shouldn't generally be an issue, but if you tried everything else, try this and check again. FLASKS: VERY VERY IMPORTANT< DO NOT SKIP. Because we are a pathfinder, our flasks are being used to cap resistances. Make sure to get taste of hate ASAP. Craft on the reduced mana cost of skills ASAP by converting your blacksmith's whetstones into glassblowers at a vendor. Get these automated ASAP with instilling orbs. Before this point you want to res cap using your gear. Due to lack of life leech, use a life flask to make sure ground dots dont kill you. You are immune to elemental ailments and with correct pantheon bleed wont do much damage, but recovery is VERY important. GET TASTE OF HATE as soon as possible. We need phys taken as x ele for defense. Weapon: #1 Until you can craft a nice uncorrupted 6 link, you should use Apep's Rage with an energy shield/evasion base shield. Make sure to get a low roll on the Apep's cast speed if you don't have any CDR. The shield helps a lot early on as it will give you a good amount of ES for Elderich battery, allowing you to cast your malevolence divine blessing without needing the reduced mana cost from support gems or flasks. Additionally, it should make casting the curses in your 6link and vixens possible super early on if (for whatever reason) you cannot either acquire the flask mana cost craft or skittering runes annoint. #2 Get a 6 Link Staff ASAP. Early on, uncorrupted 6 link staves are generally very cheap due to lack of use. This makes getting a decent staff relatively easy. Look for 1 good damage mod on your staff, and you can multimod it. #3 There is a divination card called "The Dark Mage". This should be about as hard to farm as porcupine cards, however should be much cheaper due to the low demand of staves. This div card can drop in Overgrown Ruin and Overgrown Shrine. It can also drop in the chamber of sins level 2 in act 7, however I do not recommend trying to farm it there. Once you have a staff, alteration spam for chaos damage over time multiplier (t3 is the highest that can roll) and craft +2 socketed support gems. This benchcraft is available after unveiling it on a Catarina rare item and costs 2 exalted orbs. You can also craft +1 for 8 chaos orbs if money is tight. #4 Endgame we swap back to a 1h since Shako gives more damage than a staff ever could. Aim for a level 35 impending doom on your shako, although a level 31 or higher should suffice. Helmet: #1 Try to find a decent ES/evasion base with life and suppression. Early on you want some elemental resistance because you wouldn't be getting resistances from flasks. That's pretty much it. If you can afford it, get some chaos res. #2: Later you of course swap to a Shako; make sure you get a nice corrupted Dawnbreaker shield so you don't lose too much of your Phys taken as x element. Body Armour: #1: You can use a chest from betrayal with the gravicious mod for phyical damage taken as x element, however it is imperative that you get a Lightning Coil as soon as possible (after you get your 6link staff). This is because we do not have many sources of physical damage mitigation aside from our guard skill and the physical damage taken as x element which we will eventually get from Lightning Coil and Taste of Hate. #2 KEEP IN MIND, lightning coil gives you minus to lightning resistance (-60%). Cap your resistance before equipping this. Gloves: #1: Vixen's entrapment is a core item. I would suggest farming in heist early on to aqquire some currency to purchase these gloves as soon as possible. Vixen's setup: Vixen's procs in the order of top to bottom, left to right. Put the curse you don't want (aka. Punishment) in the first socket. Put Spell Cascade, Enfeeble and Temporal Chains in the other 3. #2: After you acquire a Balance of Terror with the Temporal Chains CDR modifier, swap Temporal Chains and Despair (So that you are self casting Temporal Chains and triggering Despair in Vixen's) Boots: #1: Prioritise suppression, resistance, life and movement speed. 30% movement speed is a luxury stat that you should invest in once you can afford it, a 20% roll coming out of heist should be more than enough. Amulet: #1 YOU NEED THE ANNOINT. This annoint is simply overpowered. Not much else to say. Also significantly fixes your mana costs, to the point that the build might be somewhat unplayable without it. #2 Fix your attributes here. Rings: #1: Use rings to fix res and attributes. #2: Endgame, the essence modifier for Damage Over Time Multiplier is very strong. You might also want an Intelligence roll to activate Rational Doctrine. Belt: #1: VERY IMPORTANT Early on, run an "energy shield regen while a rare or unique enemy is nearby" benchcraft. This is because until you can get reduced mana cost on a flask, you will completely burn through your ES pool without this modifier. #2: Get CDR benchcraft, this is VERY important for damage. Fix your resistances (and attributes if needed) over here. Flask duration is QoL for more uptime on quicksilver. #3: Endgame, the belt turns into a "fakeblood". Mostly getting more flask duration and charge modifiers to counteract the downside of the 18% flask effect veiled modifier. The flask effect superjuices Taste of Hate and Progenisis. Jewels: Cluster - Get basic clusters once you are high enough level to be able to allocate the nodes. Medium cluster with "Sceptic Spells" notable should be aqquired fast because it caps our poison chance. Regular jewels - find any good relevant 1stat or 2stat jewels to use.
