ExiledRatLord's Notes

!WARNING + notes! In this guide I am assuming that you already have access to trading and leveling items as well as having the Constricting Command unique helmet! I am not a leveling pro! I think I suck at leveling, and also I don't mind a bit of struggle during the leveling. If you want a guide for a fresh start, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU! I would recommend checking Maxroll for that. However you can use this guide until you reach the Act 4 - Constricting Command skill tree. That's where things change for the surrounded modifiers! You can level with anything! You don't have to strictly level up using Rake just because you want to play it in the endgame. For example, I believe that just leveling with Lightning Arrow would be a superior choice. Try to have elemental resistances as close to the resist cap as possible at all times. ACT 1: I would recommend using Perfect Jeweller's Orb on Rake and Herald of Blood right in Act 1 since you are going to be using those in the endgame anyways. (you can do this with every skill tha't you'll be using in the endgame) On level 5 equip Tyrrany's Grip spear (free act 1 + early act 2) On level 6 swich to Jarngreipr gloves (better overall stats + your melee skills that requiere dex will be satisfied with your strength instead) On level 10 swich to Goldrim helmet (resists) On level 11 swich to Wanderlust (movement speed + slow imunity) The Blackbraid body armour felt so good that I kept using it all the way untill level 80. Where I switched to proper body armour with: % of armour also applies to elemental damage, lots of armour and life, and resists. You can do this much sooner, but I am lazy. You can also use Apron of Emiran for aggravated bleeding instead of Blackbraid and get your defence elsewhere. Armour based shield because they have higher inherrent block chance. Most of your Act 1 will be default attack + Rake. Add Herald of Blood once you do your +30 Spirit quest. DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL UP YOUR GEMS! ACT 2: In Act 2 get your first ascendancy (+1 ring slot) - Ritualist is the only character in Wraeclast that evolved THE THIRD FINGER! Get rings with resists, life and physical damage to attacks. If you feel like you need damage before level 26 - replace Tyrrany's Grip with rare spear that has more damage. On level 26 your weapon is going to be Tangletongue for a while. On level 26 you can add Herald of Plague into the build! You'll need an amulet with at least +30 spirit to do that. On level 22 get Blood Hunt. Deals damage based on a portion of enemy blood loss. (couple Rakes, wait for decent amount of blood loss -> press Blood Hunt) Feel free to upgrade your other items if you feel like you need to! (same stats but better) DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL UP YOUR GEMS! ACT 3+4: This is the point where things finally get more spicy! On level 33 get Saitha's Spear and Rapid Assault and bind the Rapid Assault to be used only with Saitha's Spear. This does not serve a damage purpose. It's there because of aggravating bleeding on a single target. Rapid Assault strikes 6 times, and each strike has a chance to aggravate bleeding on the enemy. So you do your rake with your main damage weapon and then switch to Rapid Assault to aggravate the bleed. For the duration of the bleed, you can go back to pressing Spear Stab with your damage weapon. Lock your shield for both weapon sets, so you don't have to get another one. Between Act 3 and 4 you'll reach level 38 so you can equip the Constricting Command helmet. That means starting to pick up all the surrounded stuff on the skill tree + fixing mana with Defy II support. You are going to get +30 spirit in Act 3. I would recommand doing Wind Dancer setup. If you don't like Wind Dancer, you can use Spear Throw to initiate the Herald of Blood chain. Also you should do your ascendancy trial so you get +25% effect of your rings and amulet. At this point it does not matter much if you get evasion/armour/evasion + armour gear, because you are converting all your evasion into armour anyways thanks to Iron Reflexes keystone. After you start to lack singletarget, get better weapon depanding on your level. I upgraded my weapon at level 40 and the next upgrade was level 79. Get any Silver Charm after you get rid of Wanderlust! Feel free to upgrade your other items if you feel like you need to! (same stats but better) DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL UP YOUR GEMS! INTERLUDES: As soon as do the +40 spirit quest take Scavenged Plating (the level does not matter, level increases only the thorns damage). Then replace your Close Combat support on Wind Dancer with Corrosion support. This way you'll be able to have comfortable 100% uptime on your Scavenged Plating during mapping. If you want to have Scavenged Plating buff on a single target then you can just replace Rapid Attacks II support on your Spear Stab with Armour Break III support. Change Close Combat support on Rake to Exploit Weakness. This was you'll consume broken armour you did with your Spear Stab to empower Rake with damage as well as giving you room for another armour break for Scavenged Plating. Feel free to upgrade your other items if you feel like you need to! (same stats but better) DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL UP YOUR GEMS! Finish: After finishing interludes, you should absolutely be strong enough to do your first maps. My last weapon upgrade was level 40, and I was clearing tier 9 maps with ease. However, for a single target, you will definitely need to upgrade your weapon. Check the video description on how to craft a decent spear. Feel free to upgrade your other items if you feel like you need to! (same stats but better) DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL UP YOUR GEMS!
