Overview

Tulfall Hierophant concept is a Path of Exile Hierophant build by Maniacc, made for the Crucible league (3.21). It is centered on Spark and plays as a intelligence, spell, projectile, duration archetype. In Path of Building it reaches 623.09K DPS with 11.41K effective HP, 2.86K life, 2.66K energy shield. Suited for: Abyss. Key uniques include Tulfall, Badge of the Brotherhood, Malachai's Loop, Saqawal's Nest, Bubonic Trail.

Maniacc's Notes

Due to changes to Arcane Surge, Tulfall and Bubonic Trail I've been theorycrafting a generic elemental caster build for a templar and I'd like to hear your input.

The base relies on interaction between Tulfall and Malachai's Loop - Tulfall gives us massive cold damage to spells and Frenzy Charge generation at the cost of reseting our Power Charges each time we hit max, and Malachai's Loop gives us +2 max Power charges and quite a bit of %increased spell damage but in return we reset our Power Charges each time we hit max (same as Tulfall) and additionally shocks us.

We combat dropping Power Charges by using minimum Power Charges - we get 4 from ascendancy and 1 from tree leaving us sitting at a comfortable 5 Power Charges at our weakest point.

Dealing with Shock is a bit trickier, but I think the most convenient way that also combats all other Elemental Ailments is a Firesong jewel which makes all reduction to Ignite duration on us to also apply to all Elemental Ailments - we achieve 100% by spending 3 points on Anointed Flesh and using Bubonic Trail with at least 50% reduced duration of Elemental Ailments rolled on them.

That brings us to the reworked boots - at the cost of using 3 Abyss Jewels of different rarities we get all we need to achieve our pseudo Ailment Immunity, up to 32% movement speed and up to 24% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency. Using 2 socketed pair of Bubonic Trail is optimal as those along with a Stygian Vise activate all of the affixes.

Now then, if the reworked Arcane Blessing ascendancy point scales with Arcane Surge as we assume it will, we'd be extremely happy as we get to use Kurgal's Gaze - a unique Abyss Jewel that gives us Effect of Arcane Surge per Hypnotic Eye Jewel, which we already use 3 of to activate Bubonics, so fitting 2 more Abyssal Jewels over normal ones is not a big deal, especially early in the league when it's going to be hard to spend a lot of currency on crit multi Jewels. That means each of these Jewels would gives us additional More Spell Damage and increased Cast Speed - the amount it'd give us is not astonishing in itself but it's an additional damage alongside affixes on Jewels, and I'm not gonna say no to free stuff.

Now going back to Tulfall you might recall that I said it generates Frenzy Charges?

Badge of the Brotherhood.

With minimal investment we get to 9 maximum Power Charges (+1 from ascendancy, +3 from tree, +2 from Malachai's Loop) and we have 5 minimum Power charges (7 with ring crafts) - which leaves us at 100% uptime on 9 Frenzy Charges and 7 or 8 Power Charges on average (we jump from 5 to 9 or 7 to 9 on a rotation depending on setup) after a short ramp time.

Here's a very basic example tree that uses all of the above concepts with EB + MoM on drugs (thanks to Hiero tree) to boost our meager survivability alongside new instant Leech used to sustain both our ES and Life (no Life Leech in PoB, but you can use many things like Cluster Jewel or Eldritch Implicit on Rare Gloves). Additionaly I found quite a fun body armour to include in this setup - Saqawal's Nest. With good enough rolls it takes care of majority of our Attribute requirements and allows us to reserve 210% worth of mana reservation in conjunction with Bubonics - for 3x 50% auras, Discipline and a Herald / Aspect of the Avian/Spider. Moreover we use another 50% Aura with a Divine Blessing and we don't have to care to think about sustaining it thanks to EB - we Can run Determination, Grace, Discipline, and 2 more 50% reservation damage Auras alongside forementioned 25% options.

I don't think it would be a very good starter consider some of the uniques might be pricey early (Badge, Saqawal's) and we have no idea how rare will Tulfall / 2 socketed Bubonics be, but I'm gonna add a very barebones Spark setup and I'd like to hear your input on the concept.

Edit:

Update! With the help of you guys I've added minimum Power Charges as ring crafts to bring it up to 7 since it almost has no opportunity cost. There's also a viable option of using Grand Spectrums and Militant Faith, but these require a bit more currency to acquire, so I would keep this in mind as a potential upgrade path in later stages of the build.

Small update with rings and readjusted minimum Power Charges here:https://pobb.in/aKEDG1E9ZUR5
