Edit: Perhaps I should make it clear, this is a theorycraft, not a fully tested build. There are likely things that need to be adjusted. But I hope it can serve as template to make Forbidden Rite builds
Using Olroth's Resolve for infinite Ward with The Traitor and other sources of passive charge gain like Ward Loop builds. This allows Forbidden Rite to be cast with Life without taking damage but still giving recoup. Essentially I balance Foribdden Rite self damage to be the same as my Ward, and casting that 10+ times per second.
Life recoup is roughly 1500 * 10 * .3= 4500/sec
Mana recoup 1500 * 10 * .1= 1500/sec
This is already a quite strong interaction. But Forbidden Rite is self damage and self hit and still triggers CWDT just like Ward Loop builds. Combined with Corpse Pact from Necromancer I can easily cap out 200% cast speed and attack speed with CWDT desecrate and volatile dead
Each cast of Forbidden Rite also triggers Warlords Mark which gives 20 rage. So now Shield Charge has Berserk with high uptime and 200% increased attack speed from Corpse Pact
The gear in PoB is trying to balance damage and defense but 150m dps is probably overkill. So it could be adapted to deal less damage and get 90% all res with Melding, 100% spell suppress with recombinators or max block with 5% life on block.
I'm going away and won't have time to finish the build sadly but maybe someone else wants to give it a go.
The required items to start are Olroth's flask (80c-2ex), Skin of the Lords(15c-2ex), two medium clusters(5c+2ex), Brutal Restraint (30c) and some basic 400+ ward gear
Edit: Another thing I found is you can still self-chill even with the damage is blocked by ward. So adding Call of The Void with Winterweave and Lethe Shade gives a 4 second 30% reverse chill
