IvonbetonPoE's Notes
Here's the PoB.
Here's the video guide.
There's notes in the PoB and various trees and gearing sets.
The build realistically does a lot less damage than PoB indicates. However, my video was made with very poor SSF gear so you can see for yourself how smoothly it goes. You can comfortably clear most content on a budget and scale very well into the late game. I played with a tabula most of my SSF journey. The only encounter I truly had to farm gear for was "The Feared" and Maven in SSF, but they were very doable with some upgrades and even trivial once I got me some trade gear.
I've decided to post this build again because I feel like it's a very underrated skill. Somehow only has below 0.5% usage on poeninja. Since the massive buff to the skill last league, I prefer it over the other traps due to its freeze/chill potential and its AoE. They both add a nice defensive layer. There are probably ways to further boost the damage, such as better influenced gear, cluster jewels or secrets of suffering. However, I stopped playing after clearing mostly all endgame. The final gear you see in the PoB was only about a 15 to 20ex investment and most of it went into the Watchers Eye and weapons.
Seriously, this was one of my smoothest SSF leaguestarts ever since they started buffing monsters and nerfing players. I can not understate how great this is as leaguestarter build, even for SSF. I personally prefer to always play something different, but I was really tempted to replay this build just because I never really hit a gearing roadblock until "The Feared" and Maven. I basically played with a Tabula until that point. I'm a small and sporadic content creator but I try to make these "realistic build" videos when one of the builds I tried exceeded expectations.
Hope it's of use to someone. Cheers!
EDIT : Removed numbers, expanded on context of the PoB numbers to avoid confusion.
