maybe penance brand isn't dead after all
Backstory
I've wanted to play a penance brand pathfinder since my first league, Affliction when I saw Rudy playing his legendary deep delve penance brand pathfinder, but had no knowledge on how to use POB, craft, make currency, or put together builds.
But now, in settlers, with a bit more experience i've been able to make a functional build
Offences
The core of the build is an 8 link helmet, which provides almost 75% of the build's total damage.
- Balance of terror for 40% phys as extra ele, and Wither application
- 35% increased effect 12p large physical clusters resulting in 224% increased physical damage
- 89% of physical damage added as extra elemental damage, coming from Balance of terror (39%), Boot implicit (5%), Awakened Added Fire Damage (45%), making scaling increased physical damage extremely efficient
- Herald of purity granting 14% more physical damage
- Stormburst cast while channeling setup to apply assassin's mark, cull, and chill via creeping frost
- 487% crit multi, largely coming from corrupted magic jewels
- 100% crit chance via assassin's mark, power charges and diamond flask
- Pathfinder ascendency providing 50% increased effect of withered
- Original Sin converting all elemental damage to chaos, as well as allowing me to ignore enemy's chaos resistance
- Double haunted wands providing 70 increased cast and movement speed
- 52% Increased cast speed from 160% effect silver flask
Defenses
I opted to use the purity of fire Sublime Vision, in combination with Tempered by War and the new Watcher's eye mod to allow 100% of cold and lightning damage to be taken as fire damage due to it allowing Arctic Armour to apply to all elemental damage, allowing me to ignore getting cold/lightning res entirely
- 90% maximum fire resistance providing a baseline 90% reduction to all elemental damage
- Soul of lunaris providing 6% reduced damage elemental taken if i've been hit recently
- Level 26 arctic armour providing 24/23% less physical/elemental damage taken
- Infused channeling providing 10% less damage taken while casting storm burst
- Nature's patience providing 10% less damage taken
- Focal point Forbidden flesh and flame providing 25% less damage taken from nearby enemies
- 6 Endurance charges providing 24% less elemental and physical damage taken, Generation via [enduring composure](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Enduring_Composure)
-100% recoup Stasis Prison + a well placed Natural Instict providing 112% damage recoup
- Progenesis+Petrified blood providing damage stagger, which is offset by the recoup, if a hit does not one shot me, it heals me.
- Defiance of Destiny providing 24% of unreserved life being gained before being hit, especially powerful with petrified blood
Quality of life
Speed is a priority, and the main reason I play pathfinder every league
-156% move speed from flask, 29% from boots and 70% from tormented spirits
- Weapon swap shield charge on squire setup to get what feels like 400-450% movespeed
- Big eldritch battery pool to fix all "mana" problems
- Recoup/Regen based, I can afk in any content that doesn't one shot me
Budget
I've put around 6 mirrors into the build, 3-4 is the bare minimum to make it work (Sublime vision + Original sin).
