Affliction League Mana RF Build Diary:
Onemanaleft's Mana RF Heirophant but with some passive skill tree tweaks.
Originally league started this, had to reroll Fire Trap Elementalist to make currency. This build is horrible on a budget. I needed to put probably around 200 divines to make it feel somewhat decent. Probably put around 2-3 mirrors worth of currency into this build, but the build is probably worth half that now.
You hit well over DoT Cap at peak. However, you're not always at peak DPS due to Indigon spend and Arcane Cloak. I'd estimate you're at peak DPS maybe 50% of the time, but that 50% of the time is when you actually need it anyways.
Static Blows allows you to 50% Shock Uber bosses with the Mana Shock Effect mastery. Our Lightning Damage is unreliable, you might not hit hard enough for the 50% Shock all the time. Most of the time you can hit 50% Shock though, and even when you don't you have plenty of damage for Ubers.
Build is still not minmaxed and even more currency can be put into it. Can go for better Greatwolf, Annointed Ivory Tower, Level 6 Awakened Gems, better Corruptions etc.
40/40 Affliction:
Does all content. If you slot in Chaos Resist onto the Helical, difficult content becomes 500x easier.
Worst challenges were Altars (Red Altars hard for RF without massive Fire Resist overcap) and Ultimatum. Ultimate Undertaking was okay since you could just do a Flawless Breachstone instead of the 83 8-mod Inscribed Ultimatum.
Uber/Pinnacle Content:
30/30 Simulacrum and Sirus are the two types of pinnacle content that are really sketchy with -60 Chaos Resist. Kosis with extra Crit and extra Chaos is the only thing besides a triple juiced essence mob that actually 1 shot me through Arcane Cloak.
Exarch, Sirus, and Maven are doable but one mistake instantly kills you as RF. I would not recommend doing these for anything other than the challenges. Much better builds to farm these three bosses IMO.
I farmed mostly Shaper and Uber Elder. Watchers Eyes were worth a lot unidentified.
Eater is also safe but more difficult than Shaper and Uber Elder if using a rare invitation.
Affliction Wildwood:
King of the Mists was big money from TWWT. I sold TWWT's unidentified but you can potentially make mirrors identifying them. Requires you to constantly go into wildwood though.
Did not really juice my maps much since I was farming essences. A juiced T16 rare mob with 8 Essences is harder than most Ubers. As a result, I did not MF this league.
Gear Progression:
Mana Int Boots > Mana Str/Int Boots > Hollow Fossil Craft Mana Str/Int Boots
Shavronnes Ring + Two Stone to cover Resists > Helical + Kalandra
Generic Dot Multi Sceptre + Prism Guardian > Awakener Orb Sceptre + Squire
Shaper's Touch > Corrupted Shaper's Touch (+2 gems, % Increased ES, Curse on Hit)
Xopec's Temple Amulet > Greatwolf > 30+% Attributes Greatwolf
Str/Int Stygian > Hunter Str/Int/% Attributes Stygian > Mageblood
Indigon > Corrupted Indigon (+2 Gems, % Life Regen, 90% Mana Multiplier, Effect of Shock, Burning Damage)
Ivory Tower > Corrupted Ivory Tower (+1 Max Resist, Phys Damage Reduction while Stationary, Reduced Elemental Damage Taken) > Annointed Ivory Tower (Prismatic Skin or Primal Spirit, whichever is missing from amulet)
Ideal Watchers Eye/TWWT/Charm Mods:
Mana as ES #1 Priority for both Watcher's Eye and TWWT, don't get ones without this mod.
Watcher's Eye can use Purity of Fire - Phys taken as Fire or Malevolence - DoT Multi. Both are good but I swapped to Malevolence when I felt I was tanky enough for the content I was doing. I can tank Uber Shaper slams w/ cloak and nothing else has a significant Phys hit outside of deep delve.
TWWT/Charm 20% Life regen over one second is huge. Heirophant regen sucks balls and this acts as pseudo ES recharge. You want this on at least 3 sources from Charms/TWWT. Other good mods would be Chieftain Explode, Covered in Ash, and Max Fire Resist, Elementalist Exposure, Inquisitor Str/Int, Trickster Evasion from ES, and Occultist ES Regen.
