I've been interested in Arcanist Brand ever since it came out, and I've tried numerous ways to make it work, since I love brands, and being able to cast any random spell as a brand is interesting on the surface, but in practice it's rather underwhelming.
Fast forward to Scourge League, and I had the random concept to pair it with Summon Raging Spirits. I've tried SRS builds before, but I've always felt they were slow and janky, having to constantly resummon your skulls, and them not following you. CWC variants with cyclone and the like are much smoother, but far less damage.
Arcanist Brand, however, theoretically should fix all the issues I've had with SRS, since it's not as "dead" a support as CWC due to arcanist brand's more multiplier against the attached enemy, and with swiftbrand it's very fast at spamming out twenty SRS in a very short time.
Then, when playing around with the concept in standard on a character with Maw of Mischief equipped, I remembered the Death Wish skill it gives you, and everything clicked. Arcanist brand allows you to continue to generate SRS while channeling Death Wish, and I can have CWC on death wish itself summon skeletons (Mages seemed more dps in path of building, but I may be wrong here.) for some additional single target damage.
This is more a build/interaction concept than an actual working build, but it seems very very promising. I have tried a very jank/underoptimized version in standard, on low-tier maps and blood aqueducts and it's cleared not too quickly, simply due to the delay in the SRS being summoned and then attacking, but it's surprisingly smooth with a fair amount of attachment range and with brand recall essentially acting as convocation in this build.
